Two Dutch reporters have been ordered to appear in a German court this week, following a complaint from a 90-year-old convicted Nazi war criminal who claims that the journalists violated his privacy by using a hidden camera to record an interview with him.
The reporters, Jelle Visser and Jan Ponsen, claim that they were serving the public interest by recording their conversation with the war criminal, Heinrich Boere, who volunteered for the Waffen SS in 1941 when the Nazis invaded his native Holland and later murdered at least three Dutch civilians before fleeing to Germany after the war.

"Two Dutch journalists from the TV current affairs programme Een Vandaag will stand trial in the German town of Eschweiler for breaching German privacy laws. In 2009, Jan Ponsen and Jelle Visser filmed an interview with former Dutch Nazi Heinrich Boere with a hidden camera while he was staying at a nursing home in Eschweiler." The trial date has been set for 9 February. If convicted, the two reporters face a maximum of three years in prison. The website of Een Vandaag says they expect Ponsen and Visser will be found guilty of the charges.

The site explains that Boere’s lawyer cancelled an interview appointment which Een Vandaag made after it became known that Boere was to stand trial in Germany for crimes committed during the Second World War.
The reporters then went to Eschweiler with a hidden camera.
Families of the victims had made several attempts to contact the former SS member, but had never received any correspondence from Boere, says Een Vandaag.
Boere first filed a complaint in 2010 with the Netherlands Press Council, which ruled in favour of the reporters. The council said the two had not behaved dishonourably.

The 'former' Nazi, whose father was Dutch and mother German, grew up in the Netherlands. He was a member of an SS commando unit called Silver Fir, tasked with killing suspected resistance members or supporters during the Second World War.
On several occasions, he admitted to shooting in cold blood pharmacist Fritz Bicknese, bicycle shop owner Teunis de Groot and Frans-Willem Kusters. But he argued that, as a member of an SS unit, he risked being sent to a concentration camp if he refused.

In 1947, he escaped from a prisoner-of-war camp and returned to his birthplace in Germany. He was sentenced to death in Amsterdam in absentia in 1949. The sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment.
Afterwards, he remained a free man, working as a coal miner in Germany until 1976. Germany refused to extradite him in the 1980s, saying it was unable to determine if he was German or stateless.

In 2008, Boere was indicted in Germany for the shooting of the three Dutch civilians. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in March 2010 after confessing to the killings. Last December Boere, who is in a wheelchair, was taken by ambulance from his nursing home in Germany to a prison hospital.
A German court rejected an appeal against his jail term and a medical expert said he was fit to serve his sentence at a "suitable" facility.

The Bicknese and De Groot families say they’re dismayed by the German decision to prosecute the Een Vandaag journalists. Nazi hunter Efraim Zuroff and the Simon Wiensenthal Center in Jerusalem also expressed surprise.
The leader of the Dutch Socialist Party, Emile Roemer, and conservative VVD MP Ard van de Steur said they will offer public support to the journalists.

Boere's SS colleague Klaas Carel Faber, No. 3 on the Simon Wiesenthal Centre's list of wanted Nazis and now age 89, is also a former member of the Nazi SS unit Silver Fir. He was sentenced to death by a Dutch court in 1947 for murdering 22 Jews.

Faber originally came from Haarlem and served in Kommando Feldmeijer during World War II. He was a member of the Silbertanne group which was responsible for the deaths of around 50 resistance members. He was also part of the firing squad at Westerbork concentration camp, together with his brother Pieter.

He escaped from the Breda prison in western Netherlands in 1952 with six other former SS men and eventually started working for the carmaker Audi based in Ingolstadt.

His sentence was later converted to life in prison.

The Netherlands secured a European Arrest Warrant for Faber in November 2010 and sought his return to Dutch custody, but Bavarian officials have so far refused to execute the warrant.

In 1957, a German court dropped all charges against him for lack of evidence and Bavarian authorities had said the Netherlands must produce new evidence before Faber can be arrested again.

In a further point that has outraged critics, Germany still recognizes the citizenship that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler gave to all those serving in the SS, and does not extradite its own citizens.

According to British paper The Times, Faber is being assisted by Gudrun Burwitz, daughter of SS chief Heinrich Himmler, and the Stille Hilfe group. Stille Hilfe was set up in 1951 to help SS veterans. The group was formed by German neo-Nazis and is not banned in Germany.

Stille Hilfe für Kriegsgefangene und Internierte (German for "Silent assistance for prisoners of war and interned persons") abbreviated Stille Hilfe, is a relief organization for arrested, condemned and fugitive SS members.

Operating covertly from 1946, the organization which later became publicly active as "Stille Hilfe", aided the escape of hunted Nazi fugitives over Allied lines via escape routes, particularly to South America. Thus Adolf Eichmann, Johann von Leers, Walter Rauff and Josef Mengele could escape to Argentina.

On 7 October 1951 the Stille Hilfe founders' meeting was held in Munich and on 15 November 1951 the organization was entered in the register of associations in the Upper Bavarian city Wolfratshausen.

Founding members of the committee included high-ranking 'former' functionaries of the Nazi state such as the former SS-Standartenführer and head of department in the Central Reich Security Office (RSHA), Wilhelm Spengler, and SS-Obersturmbannführer Heinrich Malz, who was the personal adviser of Ernst Kaltenbrunner.

From the beginning of the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials, the group sought to influence public opinion to prevent the execution of the death penalty. In press campaigns, personal and open letters and petitions, the war criminals were usually represented as innocent victims; pure command-receivers, irreproachable and who would have to suffer bitter injustice by 'victor's justice'.

In the following decades Stille Hilfe worked somewhat in secret with revisionist organizations and prominent protagonists of the "Auschwitzlüge" (Auschwitz lie) like Thies Christophersen and (convicted terrorist) Manfred Roeder, and co-operated with relevant foreign organizations and personalities e.g. (Florentine Rost van Tonningen, Leon Degrelle). At the same time Stille Hilfe maintained contacts with conservative politicians such as Franz Josef Strauß, Theodor Oberländer, Jörg Haider and probably also Alfred Dregger, though there is no clear proof. By a not insignificant number of inheritances and by regular donations, the organization controls considerable funds.

Stille Hilfe supported the former concentration camp guard Hildegard Lächert, as well as Klaus Barbie, Erich Priebke and Josef Schwammberger, who from 1942 to 1944 was commander of German labour camps in occupied Poland, involved in the massacres of Przemyśl and Rozwadów.

Although firmly rooted in the neo-Nazi fringe, it developed amicable relations with conservative West German politicians, such as CDU Bundestag Parliamentary leader Alfred Dregger, who praised the efforts of Stille Hilfe in 1989.

In 1991, a Stille Hilfe representative attended the graveside ceremony in Kassel of Michael Kühnen, the prominent Neo-Nazi leader who died of HIV-related complications. Stille Hilfe laid a wreath that bore the SS motto "Michael Kühnen - His Honor Is Loyalty".

It is known that Stille Hilfe representatives have an influence in government and judiciary circles, particularly in Bavaria. Any Nazi facing conviction opts to have their legal proceedings undertaken in Bavaria, where 'sympathetic' judges ensure any claims by foreign countries in particular, are obfuscated.

With this level of involvement, we suspect the Nazis-in-suits behind Stille Hilfe are responsible for the legal case against these Dutch journalists. If they are convicted, it will be a dark day for justice, and a severe warning for the future of Europe.

Egyptian Authorities Raid German Foundation

"Under the pressure of the Euro crisis, secessionist conflicts - some directly supported by Berlin - are escalating in various European countries. Italy is most affected, where the country's more prosperous regions seek to secede from the nation, to escape Berlin's austerity dictate. According to the reasoning, Italy's more impoverished southern regions are responsible for the country's enormous national debt and should therefore be the main ones to pay the price. Secessionist demands are raised particularly in the German-speaking region of South Tyrol and in the Po Valley region "Padania". Whereas in "Padania," prestigious elements, particularly those affiliated with the "Lega Nord" (North League), are seeking to form an independent nation, ethnic chauvinist circles in "South Tyrol" are seeking annexation by Austria. Following the pattern of both Hungary and Germany, Vienna is currently considering granting citizenship to "Austrians abroad." Secessionist forces are also gaining ground in Great Britain. In Scotland, a referendum on the question of forming an independent country is scheduled for 2014 or 2015. Germany would be the primary beneficiary of a weakening of its British rival."

"Payment Refused

One of the internal European secessionist conflicts being inflamed by the current Euro crisis is the national affiliation of the northern Italian Bolzano - Alto Adige (South Tyrol) province. That region has been part of Italy since the Habsburg Empire was dissolved following World War I. Ever since, ethnic chauvinists have been seeking to have it reattached to Austria, with repeated financial and miscellaneous other support from West German organizations, including West German foreign policy proxy organizations. Now demands for secession are gaining popularity because Italy must submit to the German dictated austerity measures and make major budget cuts. "The South Tyrol regional parliament decided against any further financial burden (...) on the region and community of South Tyrol," according to the resolution, adopted by the provincial parliament in Bolzano, in late November: Refusal of Participation in Crisis Measures.

The Maelstrom of Temptation

Since the persistently escalating Euro crisis could engender still more hardship, new conflicts are inevitable. The South Tyrol Freedom Party, a small secessionist party in a small community not far from the Austrian border, recently organized a referendum, in which 95 percent - of the approx. 30 percent participation - voted in favor of the "application of self-determination," meaning separating from Italy. Throughout the province, the three parties campaigning for the secession of South Tyrol have polled more than 20 percent of the votes in past elections. In the case, stringent austerity measures were to be imposed, even the South Tyrol People's Party (SVP), the strongest party by a wide margin, which, until now, has formally insisted on remaining within the Italian nation, would, according to the German press, no longer be able to resist the temptation of the 'separate from Rome' maelstrom."

Austrians Abroad

In Austria, steps are being taken to intensify the linkage to the North Italian province. The Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ), for example, is promoting granting Austrian citizenship to German-speaking North Italians. Until now, the government in Vienna has refused. However, according to a legal expertise presented by a jurist at the University of Innsbruck, granting Austrian citizenship to so called Austrians abroad would be absolutely permissible. This would correspond to the Hungarian practice toward "Hungarians abroad," reasons the jurist. Budapest, in turn, refers to Berlin's practice of granting German passports to German-speaking citizens of Poland and Czechoslovakia. The Vienna chancellery, according to sources, sees therefore no fundamental obstacles prohibiting granting double citizenship to South Tyroleans. Bolzano points to the FPÖ's activities - and that the latter has hopes of winning the next elections in 2013 and being in a position to appoint the Austrian chancellor. One cannot imagine that an FPÖ chancellor would refuse granting Austrian citizenship to German-speaking North Italians.

Autonomous Currency

In Italy, new secessionist demands are also being raised even beyond the Bolzano - Alto Adige Province, particularly in the North Italian Po Valley by the Lega Nord. This party has polled up to a quarter of all votes in some of the Po Valley provinces, appointing numerous mayors - even of larger cities. The Lega Nord promotes the secession of this extremely wealthy region - under name of "Padania" - or at least demands wide-ranging autonomy. It has announced a boycott of the Monti government's new property tax for implementing Berlin's austerity dictate. This announcement seems credible, at least, in towns with Lega Nord mayors. As in the case of South Tyrol, this refusal to shoulder the burden imposed by Rome on the population because of the German austerity dictate, is threatening Italy's national existence. Lega Nord Chairman, Umberto Bossi is quoted to have said: "if the Euro fails, Padania will issue its own currency, we will definitely not return to the old Lira." This would signify nothing less than "Padania's" secession from Italy.

Secession Referendum

Secessionist tendencies are on the rise also in Great Britain, where the devolution process initiated in the 1990s has already led certain regions - Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - to demand more rights of autonomy and even complete sovereignty. Scotland's nationalist government is planning a referendum on the question of secession for 2014/2015 and subsequent steps. In early December, it became known that Scotland will demand 9 per cent of the UK's defense hardware and establish its own armed forces, which would cooperate more closely with the Scandinavian countries. It plans a general shift toward closer cooperation with North European countries, for example with Norway. The Euro crisis is also sharpening this conflict. Following the British Prime Minister's rejection of German demands at the EU summit December 9, Scotland has intensified its pressure on London. Disgruntled by the UK's single handed action, Edinburgh is demanding to be included in essential decisions in Brussels. In any case, the Scottish establishment is considering maintaining the Pound only for a short period after secession, but - should the Euro still exist - gradually introduce the Euro.

Greater Germany

The Scottish perspective demonstrates how separatism in Europe reinforces Germany by the enlargement of Berlin's circle of supporters within the Euro zone and seriously weakening its rivals, such as Great Britain. The ethnic policy behind European secessionist conflicts has always been supported by West Germany - through direct intervention, but also through German foreign policy proxy organizations. This not only weakens its rivals, such as Great Britain, Italy and France. It also places territories of foreign nations - for example South Tyrol - more strongly under German influence and consolidates the long-term perspective of German hegemony over the European continent. The European Free Alliance Party, whose parliamentarians in the European Parliament are in the caucus with the German Green Party, published a map quite a few years ago that clearly illustrates this fact. The map depicts nearly all of the major nations of Europe dramatically diminished - except one, Germany, which is presented significantly enlarged."

"In January 1871, after the end of Bismarck’s successful war against France, a celebration was held at the Versailles Palace, near Paris, to mark the foundation of unified Germany. It comprised almost exactly the same number of states as in the European Union today, and was similarly unequal in size, ranging from mighty Prussia down to tiny principalities. Like the present leaders of the European Union, Bismarck decided to have a new currency.

Bismarck and the stock market crash of 1873
It was much easier for Bismarck to whip the four kingdoms, six grand duchies, five duchies, seven principalities, and three republics, each with its own constitution and representative system, into a fiscal union than Mrs Merkel and President Sarkozy with the euro zone, because of his success in battle.
Germans indulged in a huge stock-market spending spree after their victory over France, sparking an investment flurry everywhere. Then, flush with French gold from the spoils of war, Bismarck decided to raise interest rates, cease minting silver, and to institute the popularly named Goldmark only two years after unification. This caused the international value of silver to plummet. Money became scarce and the Vienna stock exchange collapsed, followed by Berlin and Wall Street. Austrians would rant against the ‘unwise expansion, insolvency and dishonest manipulation’ of the Vienna stock exchange for years.

Germany in the depression after 1873
In the aftermath of the 1873 stock exchange debacle, Germany and the whole of the western world suffered a long depression. Yet Bismarck realised that the foundation of Germany’s success would be a strong economy and he was prepared to help to enable it to succeed. Although the private German banks lost their power after 1870, and many small banks collapsed, the newly founded Deutsche Bank emerged from the stock market crash unscathed and soon became the right-arm of industry. Smiled upon by government, the years of depression eventually produced the triumph of German big industry on world markets, under Prussian dominance.

Germany and the 1929 stock market crash
The 1929 crash bore marked similarity with the 1873 crash in that it was associated with the return to the Gold Standard, huge capital flows from Europe to America, and rising interest rates. In addition there was a political dimension, when insiders who had put their trust in Germany suddenly became aware that they had been deceived. In the crash’s aftermath there was a deep depression.

The 2008 crash
There was no spending spree in Germany after the euro arrived. As German wages stagnated, or were lowered, Germans invested their money abroad. Indeed, Britain’s former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, asserted in his International Herald Tribune article, on 21st August 2011, that the ‘German banks were supplying the drinks’ for the stock market boom in America and Southern Europe. Naturally others joined in the party. Indeed it seemed as though the world was awash with cash. Eventually, however, the European Central Bank started to raise interest rates. Then the ECB, egged on by the Bundesbank, raised them yet again, first to eradicate internal, then external inflation. Commodities tumbled worldwide, European money deserted Wall Street and Lehman Brothers collapsed. Many, many books have since been written by the bankers, lamenting their foolishness and greed.

The future?
After 1873 and 1929 we had dreadful depressions. It seems that we are going to have one now. What is worrying is that Germany seems to be using deflation for political ends, as it did between 1930 and 1932. People don’t know exactly why Germany has chosen the present period in which to eliminate its budget deficit but it is making it almost impossible for the weaker euro zone countries to grow their economies, while eliminating their debts. One also has to ask why Germany lent money so wantonly to the PIGS -Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain - only to transform them into pariah states?

Echoes of the 1930s
The request to the IMF and the rest of the world to help the European Union’s finances is also worrying. In the aftermath of the 1929 stock market crash it was popularly believed that Germany was weak. Indeed, few people know that in 1930 and 1931, money was lent to Germany from impoverished France, Britain, Switzerland and America to help it pay its debts. However, Germany was not weak in 1931, just using deflation for political ends. Indeed, it was later revealed to be the greatest exporter in the world, with a secret mountain of cash in its coffers. Meanwhile, the money lent to Germany from France, Britain, Switzerland and America at the time, merely made those countries poorer.

The European Union is regarded as weak today and has asked the whole world to help it with its problems. Yet on the face of it, it does not seem so poor. It has, as a whole, less debt than America. Italy, which is regarded as the next basket case after Greece, has 2450 tons of gold and is the world’s 6th biggest industrial economy, France, which is being made to pay more for loans, is the world’s fifth wealthiest, while Germany is even more powerful. If Germany was not set on deflating in its own economy, it could give other euro zone states the chance to grow and sort out the debts, which were incurred, in part, because of its reckless lending. The very least that it could do is to abandon its plan to eliminate its fiscal deficit by 2015. Otherwise it will looks as though it wants shove the jackboot in, to pay off old scores and dominate, not unify Europe."

Whilst the British Media is FILLED with propaganda pushing the idea that Britain should bail out a currency it is not a member of, the elephant in the room continues to go unnoticed.

Germany's Eurozone Surplus has fluctuated between E110bn - E150bn PA, for over a decade. The same figure that the Eurozone is imbalanced by.

Yet Germany is pushing for Britain and others, to bail out the Euro (so they don't have to), keeping German financial dominance of Europe in tact.

Economic warfare and blackmail at its most obvious.

Germany - The Biggest Debt Transgressor In History

A 'nail on the head' interview from Der Spiegel with economic historian Albrecht Ritschl argues Germany has been the worst debtor nation of the past century;

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Mr. Ritschl, Germany is coming across like a know-it-all in the debate over aid for Greece. Berlin is intransigent and is demanding obedience from Athens. Is this attitude justified?

Ritschl: No, there is no basis for it.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Most Germans would likely disagree.

Ritschl: That may be, but during the 20th century, Germany was responsible for what were the biggest national bankruptcies in recent history. It is only thanks to the United States, which sacrificed vast amounts of money after both World War I and World War II, that Germany is financially stable today and holds the status of Europe's headmaster. That fact, unfortunately, often seems to be forgotten.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: What happened back then exactly?

Ritschl: From 1924 to 1929, the Weimar Republic lived on credit and even borrowed the money it needed for its World War I reparations payments from America. This credit pyramid collapsed during the economic crisis of 1931. The money was gone, the damage to the United States enormous, the effect on the global economy devastating.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: The situation after World War II was similar.

Ritschl: But right afterwards, America immediately took steps to ensure there wouldn't be a repeat of high reparations demands made on Germany. With only a few exceptions, all such demands were put on the backburner until Germany's future reunification. For Germany, that was a life-saving gesture, and it was the actual financial basis of the Wirtschaftswunder, or economic miracle (that began in the 1950s). But it also meant that the victims of the German occupation in Europe also had to forgo reparations, including the Greeks.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: In the current crisis, Greece was initially pledged €110 billion from the euro-zone and the International Monetary Fund. Now a further rescue package of similar dimensions has become necessary. How big were Germany's previous defaults?

Ritschl: Measured in each case against the economic performance of the USA, the German debt default in the 1930s alone was as significant as the costs of the 2008 financial crisis. Compared to that default, today's Greek payment problems are actually insignificant.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: If there was a list of the worst global bankruptcies in history, where would Germany rank?
Ritschl: Germany is king when it comes to debt. Calculated based on the amount of losses compared to economic performance, Germany was the biggest debt transgressor of the 20th century.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Greece can't compare?

Ritschl: No, the country has played a minor role. It is only the contagion danger for other euro-zone countries that is the problem.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: The Germany of today is considered the embodiment of stability. How many times has Germany become insolvent in the past?

Ritschl: That depends on how you do the math. During the past century alone, though, at least three times. After the first default during the 1930s, the US gave Germany a "haircut" in 1953, reducing its debt problem to practically nothing. Germany has been in a very good position ever since, even as other Europeans were forced to endure the burdens of World War II and the consequences of the German occupation. Germany even had a period of non-payment in 1990.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Really? A default?

Ritschl: Yes, then-Chancellor Helmut Kohl refused at the time to implement changes to the London Agreement on German External Debts of 1953. Under the terms of the agreement, in the event of a reunification, the issue of German reparations payments from World War II would be newly regulated. The only demand made was that a small remaining sum be paid, but we're talking about minimal sums here. With the exception of compensation paid out to forced laborers, Germany did not pay any reparations after 1990 -- and neither did it pay off the loans and occupation costs it pressed out of the countries it had occupied during World War II. Not to the Greeks, either.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Unlike in 1953, the current debate in Germany over the rescue of Greece is concerned not so much with a "haircut", but rather an extension of the maturities of government bonds, i.e. a "soft debt restructuring." Can one therefore even speak of an impending bankruptcy?

Ritschl: Absolutely. Even if a country is not 100 percent out of money, it could still be broke. Just like in the case of Germany in the 1950s, it is illusory to think that Greeks would ever pay off their debts alone. Those who are unable to do that are considered to be flat broke. It is now necessary to determine how high the failure rate of government bonds is, and how much money the country's creditors must sacrifice. It's above all a matter of finding the paymaster.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: The biggest paymaster would surely be Germany.

Ritschl: That's what it looks like, but we were also extremely reckless -- and our export industry has thrived on orders. The anti-Greek sentiment that is widespread in many German media outlets is highly dangerous. SPIEGEL ONLINE: You're saying that Germany should back down?

Ritschl: In the 20th century, Germany started two world wars, the second of which was conducted as a war of annihilation and extermination, and subsequently its enemies waived its reparations payments completely or to a considerable extent. No one in Greece has forgotten that Germany owes its economic prosperity to the grace of other nations.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: What do you mean by that?

Ritschl: The Greeks are very well aware of the antagonistic articles in the German media. If the mood in the country turns, old claims for reparations could be raised, from other European nations as well. And if Germany ever had to honor them, we would all be taken the cleaners. Compared with that, we can be grateful that Greece is being indulgently reorganized at our expense. If we follow public opinion here with its cheap propaganda and not wanting to pay, then eventually the old bills will be presented again.

So, Germans everywhere can shut up and stop preaching.

Germany: Anti-Israel, Pro-Iran

The Simon Wiesenthal Center urged German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday to debunk media reports that her government had blocked delivery of a German submarine to Israel to force Prime Minister Netanyahu to stop housing construction in Jerusalem’s Gilo neighborhood.
Gilo, with some 40,000 residents in the south of the Israeli capital, is over the Green Line in an area that was captured in the Six Day War.

The advanced Dolphin vessel can carry nuclear missiles, making it possible to launch a second- strike attack against aggressors. A second-strike capability is widely viewed as a important deterrent mechanism necessary to ensure Israel’s security.

“The Simon Wiesenthal Center vigorously urges Chancellor Merkel to unambiguously dispel a headline this generation never thought to see: ‘German Arms Embargo on Israel,’ Dr.Shimon Samuels, the center’s director for international relations, said.

Yediot Aharonot reported last week that Merkel threatened to cancel delivery of a planned sixth second-strike capability submarine because of Israeli construction in Gilo and Netanyahu's failure to make progress with the Palestinian Authority on a peace agreement.

The Israeli Defense Ministry and the Merkel administration have remained tightlipped about the report.
According to the Wiesenthal Center, “The deal has, reportedly, been scuttled to pressure Jerusalem into further concessions to the Palestinians and to scold PM Netanyahu for construction in Gilo - a district of municipal Jerusalem.
“A boycott of Germany for building in Prenzlauer Berg – a district of former Communist East Berlin – would be equally absurd,” Samuels said.

He criticized last week’s meeting between German politicians and policy-makers and a leading representative of Iran’s government, noting “that the timing of the leak [about the submarine] coincided with yesterday’s scheduled meeting in Berlin of the government’s coalition partner Free Democrats (FDP) spokesman, Rainer Stinner, with Iranian Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs Mohammed Roza Farzin.

“Could the submarine incident scapegoating Israel be a cover for German violation of UN and EU sanctions against Iran?” Samuels asked. “Could the potential bonanza of Iranian trade outweigh the loss of German jobs incurred by the cancellation of the submarine deal with Israel?” Stinner opposes a ban of trade with the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The US designated the Guards a global terrorist organization in 2007.

The IRGC runs Iran’s nuclear program and controls around a third of its economy through a series of subsidiaries and trusts. Stinner and Bundestag deputy Ruprecht Polenz, from Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union, frequently meet with Iranian lawmakers and face criticism for failing to isolate the Tehran regime. Polenz welcomed a delegation of Iranian parliament members to the Bundestag in June, claiming sanctions do not rule out talks with Iranian politicians.

Bank Of England - German Exports Pushing Debt Crisis

Germans need to stop saving and start spending, or the rolling financial crisis that kicked off in 2008 will only get worse. That, in a nutshell, was Bank of England Governor Mervyn King's message in a speech he made earlier this week, where he considered the role of international imbalances in creating and sustaining the conditions that led to global economic disaster.

In Europe, Germany sits at the heart of these imbalances, he argued. By suppressing domestic demand and focusing on exports as its main engine of growth, the German government has in effect forced its trading partners to become large net debtors.

The measures introduced to lift the global economy out of the 2008 crisis—huge infusions of monetary and fiscal policy—helped to prevent the disaster from turning into utter catastrophe. But they didn't resolve the underlying stresses that had taken the global economy to the brink in the first place.

Since the downturn, Germany has continued to rely on exports to keep its economy going. Its trading partners, already struggling under mountains of debt, have ended up borrowing even more.
The result will prove just as ugly for Germany as it is for the countries currently struggling with debt. That's because Germans "will find their loans eventually repaid in depreciated currencies, if at all," Mr King said.
And while borrowers will still have the Mercedes and BMWs, the Miele washing machines, the machine tools and other industrial equipment they bought from Germany, Germans will be sitting on stacks of worthless, or near worthless, IOUs.

Instead, what Germany must do is to expand its domestic demand and import more so that deficit countries can generate the income with which to pay back what they owe, he concluded.

Deutsche Bank's London offices were raided this week, in an EU-wide investigation into suspected fixing of interbank lending benchmark Euribor.

It is the third major probe into banking this year after separate investigations into credit default swaps, including a probe into whether banks manipulated another interbank lending benchmark, the London interbank offered rate, as well as one into cross-border bank payments.
Euribor is a benchmark rate that banks refer to when fixing a price on interbank euro loans.

The move comes alongside an investigation by enforcement agencies in the United States, Europe and Japan into whether the London Interbank Offered Rate (Libor) was manipulated during the last financial crisis.

Poland’s nationalist opposition leader Jarosław Kaczyński, says German Chancellor Merkel "represents the generation of German politicians who want to rebuild German imperial power. A strategic axis with Moscow is part of that and Poland can only be an obstacle to it. Our country must be made to submit in one way or another. The critical thing is that Merkel wants Poland to submit, a soft submission, perhaps, but a submission nonetheless," wrote Mr Kaczyński.

Ahead of Polish elections this Sunday, he also spoke against German investments, writing: "I can't claim to be overjoyed about German investment in western Poland. We could wake up one day and find ourselves in a smaller Poland."

In his book, Kaczynski also hints that there was something amiss in the way Merkel was elected chancellor in 2005. His allegations are vague, while still casting doubt on her legitimacy. They stirred up a storm of controversy in Poland.
He writes that he does not believe that the choice of Merkel for chancellor was “the result of a pure coincidence” and should be studied by “political scientists and historians.”
He was repeatedly asked by reporters to clarify that remark and refused — but said Merkel would understand what he meant.
On Tuesday, he lashed out at a Polish reporter who pressed him on the matter, demanding to know if he worked for a Polish or German news outlet.

Kaczynski also uses his book to recall a dinner with Merkel — before she was chosen chancellor in 2005 — where she complained about Poland’s participation in the U.S.-led war in Iraq. Germany did not participate in that military mission.
“She wanted us to have a similar position to Germany,” Kaczynski writes. “Poland was supposed to be doing just as Germany did.”
Kaczynski was prime minister from 2006-2007 and his term was marked by an aggressive stance toward Germany and Russia and a strong pro-U.S. stance.

Ahead of the presidential race of 2005, Tusk was projected to beat his main rival Lech Kaczynski, the late twin of Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

Germany could not allow a senior member of the KLA, which Germany supported during the break-up of Yugoslavia, to give witness to KLA war crimes. This would unravel the whole reality of Germany's mission in Yugoslavia, and reveal the lies told by German politicians and media to the German electorate, regarding who was actually undertaking genocide in the region.

German politicans even made the (proven to be false) claim that Serbia had "death camps"; an extremely emotive motivator top the German electorate.

Agim Zogaj was known as "protected witness X" in the war crimes trial against a former ethnic Albanian rebel commander and now a senior politician, Fatmir Limaj.
Zogaj was granted protected witness status in return for his testimony in the Limaj trial.
Last week, a judge working for the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo, ordered Limaj, a lawmaker with the governing party in Kosovo's Assembly, to spend a month under house arrest while awaiting trial.

Limaj is accused of killing and torturing Serb prisoners in a detention center in central Kosovo during the 1998-99 Kosovo war. Many of the charges were based on Zogaj's witness statements.
A former commander in the ethnic Albanian rebel Kosovo Liberation Army, Limaj was cleared of similar charges by a U.N. court in 2005 that ruled there was insufficient evidence to convict him.
He then launched a political career and became one of the most influential figures in the party of Prime Minister Hashim Thaci.

German police have said the witness is believed to have hanged himself late Tuesday in Duisburg, western Germany. "He committed suicide. There are no indications for a different explanation," police spokesman Stefan Bauer said. But he also said an autopsy will be carried out Thursday.

Another Siemens Overspend

The cost of a multi-million pound Government IT project has more than quadrupled, it has emerged.
The 10-year deal signed by the Passport Agency, part of the Home Office, was supposed to cost between £80m and £100m.
But new figures reveal the final bill for the contract with hi-tech firm Siemens is £365m - more than four times the initial quote.

As demonstrated previously by GermanyWatch, Siemens appears to win contracts by undercutting the competitors during procurement processes, knowing that they are just going to push the actual costs to many times the agreed amount. This is just one small example of many.

If you consider the hundreds of similar contracts in every region of the UK, where Siemens' costs quadruple beyond the original budget, you can see how Germany, and Siemens specifically, is a beneficiary of the huge public sector overspend, and a serious contributor to UK debt.

No doubt the Thameslink contract will go the same way, as the Edinburgh Tram contract has previously.

Siemens, with their bribery, corruption, and questionable procurement methods, should be banned outright from UK Government contracts for ten years - EU rules even support such a move. However, Siemens has just moved between E4bn-E6bn to the European Central Bank, (from French banks which they have used to finance their questionable contracts) in a thiny-veiled attempt for preferential treatment. The ECB of course, will now make sure that Siemens gets its full return in any Euro countries in trouble, hence they can afford to run up ridiculous bills with foreign Governments.

We won't even get started on the risk to security that is Siemens running our Passport system and having access to this data!

In Greece, the Greek party Pasok has called for an investigation into Siemens bribing of four ex ministers – former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos and former Transport Minister Tassos Mantelis from PASOK, and former Finance Minister Giorgos Alogoskoufis and former Interior Minister Christos Markoyiannakis! The investigation is to review whether these minister can be held accountable on criminal charges including bribe-taking, money laundering and breach of faith. This is a blinding example of the level of German penetration in foreign governments!

We have it on reliable but unconfirmed authority, that various German firms were cleverly using French banks to finance fraudulent, inflated, Greek government contracts. Think about it.

Siemens was the major player in the Nazification of Germany. The company, run by Werner Von Siemens' son, Carl, and then his grandson, Hermann, struggled in the wake of World War I and the Great Depression and had to earn some dough fast. When Hitler rose to power in the 1930s, it was the signal for the Siemens executives to start building factories, and nowhere was the real estate better than near the homey neighborhoods of Auschwitz and Buchenwald.

Hundreds of thousands of slave workers were employed to build all sorts of goodies for the German military to use on both the western and the eastern fronts. Though they weren't the only company at the time supplying the German war effort, they were certainly the most prolific. Siemens was in charge of Germany's rail infrastructure, communications, power generation ... the list goes on. If the Reichstag was the brain behind the war, Siemens was definitely the right hand that stroked Hitler to ecstatic glory.

Internationaly, Siemens was the major Nazi front for espionage and fifth column activity, noted in newly declassified MI5 files from the time as "rabid" Nazi activity.

So how evil were they?
We'll let you be the judge. At the height of the Nazi terror during the 1940s, it was not atypical for a slave worker to build electrical switches for Siemens in the morning and be snuffed out in a Siemens-made gas chamber, and burned in a Siemens-made oven in the afternoon.

Why else would the Allies destroy four-fifths of the company's factories during the war? Because they were bored? No. It's because they intended to blitz the marque brand of Nazi Germany back into hell where it belonged.

These days Siemens is being forced to pay due to a series of lawsuits from survivors. So, at least they own up to it, right?

Well, a few years ago, in an act of insensitivity so colossal it could blot out the sun, Siemens tried to trademark the name "Zyklon" with the intent of marketing a series of products under the name. Including gas ovens.

Democracy Is A Threat To Germany

A recently published book, by one of the most influential German newspaper publishers, is pleading for a transition toward "less democracy." The "voice of the people" and the "emancipatory Zeitgeist, putting everything into question," has too much of a "paralyzing influence" on current governance, writes the publishing house in its blurb for the book. The author therefore demands to "correct the system" for "more efficient policy making." These "corrections" must include the dismantlement of democratic participation.

The book, recently published under the title "Dare Less Democracy" is being heavily promoted by public broadcasting stations, for example the Westdeutsche Rundfunk (WDR), with close affiliation to the Social Democrats. For some time, influential circles of the German elite have been demanding dismantlement of democracy in Germany. The recently published book will bring this debate into a broader public.

The book "Dare Less Democracy" was published in August by the publishing house of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, one of the most influential German dailies. The author Laszlo Trankovits is the bureau chief and correspondent of the Deutsche Presse Agentur (dpa) in South Africa. He had previously worked for dpa in Washington - as its "White House correspondent," according to the publisher.

Laszlo Trankovits claims that "The functioning and efficiency of a society, state and economy" are threatened, if "everyone can have their say and participate in everything."

It is therefore necessary to "debate how the systems of leadership, planning and shaping the future can continue to function." But this will lead to conflict with "political correctness," which "usually" proscribes "all demands (...) for a moderate limitation of participation and transparency."

Trankovits however, is publicly calling for means of reducing democratic participation in Germany. He demands: "Fewer elections, longer legislative periods" and for the government "more centralization, more concentration of power, more control."

In reference to the Federal Constitutional Court being repeatedly summoned on the constitutionality of new laws, Trankovits writes: "The increasing involvement of the Constitutional Court is heading in the wrong direction." Rather than democratic participation, "Governance" needs "competence, decisiveness and leadership." It should never be suggested that a "democratic society can do away with inequality and establish social justice." Trankovits, demands that "intelligent forms of public relations" be used to communicate policy measures to the population. However, the demand for more "transparency" is "counterproductive and paralyzing" for any "governance efficiency" and must be rejected.

The call to dismantle democratic participation must obviously be seen in light of the West's loss of global influence to China's advantage. Trankovits explains that "German leaders (...) often are ravished, when they speak of China's huge development leaps." In "western democracies" we are accustomed to "years, if not decades of debate on the construction of a new power plant, airport or railway station." China's economic success causes "doubts about democracy's superiority" and the "traditional feelings of superiority held by democrats" is dwindling. This will induce efforts to reshape western societies, so that they can again take the leadership in global competition.

All this corresponds to assessments expressed in a review published in the periodical "Internationale Politik" last year. The review also explained that China's economic boom "has reignited the competition of systems." Particularly "managers and industrialists" are hoping that the dismantlement of democratic participation will enhance "their opportunities." In their discussions, the elites are particularly bemoaning the inertia of democratic procedures and "the lack of a selection of political personnel." This induces a wish for "conceptualization of pertinent, depoliticized, bureaucratic procedure" and for "a bit of dictatorship." In fact, circles of the Berlin's establishment are already discussing dictatorial methods. The key Nazi jurist, Carl Schmitt, differentiated between provisional and sovereign dictatorships. "If there is various talk of dictatorial powers and measures today, it is usually [!] in the sense of what Schmitt referred to as a provisional dictatorship," the review explains, while also recognizing certain problems in its implementation. "But no constitutional institution is currently prepared to take the risk of installing a provisional dictator."

According to the Westdeutsche Rundfunk (WDR), closely affiliated with the Social Democrats, Trankovits has "carefully analyzed why too many opinion polls, too much democratic participation and accessibility of citizens could paralyze Germany." This wording, is a clear attempt to convince the public that Germany is under threat because of democratic oversight. The book description reads "the combination of political and economic freedom has lost its persuasive power. Dare Less Democracy examines the destabilizing and paralyzing influence of the "voice of the people"."

According to the Hessische Rundfunk (HR), "his book seeks to counteract disenchantment with politics (and politicians) and is an encouragement to all of us." Both broadcasting stations are providing much space and praise to the author and his publication - State support for an attempt to bring the debate on dismantling democracy into a larger public arena.

Germany Wants You To Believe In The Tooth Fairy

Germany rebuilt its economy from the rubble of the second world war by setting rules on how market forces should work – and sticking to them. What followed was touted as a Wirtschaftswunder, an “economic miracle” that recreated Europe’s industrial powerhouse. The reality of course, is that there is no such thing as a miracle in finance.
Along with the tooth fairy, such claims are made as a cover of where the money was actually coming from.

Germany's industrial dominance today is a direct result of, and benefit from, the gigantic industrial war machine of the Nazi era. The Allies were supposed to dismantle this, however little was actually done post-war, as much of Germany's important industrial assets were just hidden or moved abroad. German firms (by order of the German leadership) pretended that much of their important industry, machines etc, had been destroyed by Allied bombing, so that they would not be forced to give up important industry to the invaders, and not furnish their european victims with the scientific/industrial means to compete with the future Reich.

Add to that mix the huge funds looted from every country Germany invaded; funds never recovered by the Allies and used as post-war development capital for firms such as Thyssen-Krupp, Siemens, BASF, Bayer, and VW, plus the Marshall plan, and the obsurdity that Germany's post-war economy was a divine "miracle" becomes clear. Germans just like to pretend that a miracle happened, rather than admit the fact that the German economy survived by the very looting, genocide, and slave labour undertaken in the 1940s.

Many of the German economists and central bankers of the 1940s, were re-positioned by the mid 1950s. Bankers and economists whom their very theory of banking, was to operate outside of the Capitalist system, and as such destroy Anglo-American influence, and replace it with the German banking outlook - a system designed to make slaves of any nation Germany wanted to conquer, and switch debts owed to Germany into a barter system of labour provision for the German reich (akin to a europe-wide command economy).

That idea still informs the way the country’s mainstream economists approach policymaking; and a mere European financial crisis is not going to change their way of thinking.

As the crisis engulfing the 17-nation bloc escalates, Germany continues to press hard for Greece to pay a high price for 'breaking the rules'. From the federal president down, Germans have denounced the extraordinary steps taken by the European Central Bank to prevent financial meltdown. Jürgen Stark, one of their leading representatives, this month quit the ECB’s executive board in protest. They have also rejected appeals for Berlin to embark on fiscal stimulus measures that would boost growth across the continent.

The result is a standoff between Germany on one side and much of the rest of Europe and the US on the other, where Berlin is seen as the block to a decisive crisis response because it simply is “not getting it”. The trouble is, it is "getting it", just not in the way the west would hope.

The German economists’ conviction that fiscal austerity is Athens’ only option is not unique – it is the position taken by the ECB and International Monetary Fund. But global aid packages combine sticks with carrots and doses of pragmatism. By contrast, German conservatives couple economic arguments with a moral conviction that, if rules are to work, inappropriate behaviour should be punished whatever the impact on other countries - including making the Greek economy shrink for the worse, and risk civil war, despite that German banks helped create the debts in the first place, German businesses were involved in bribery and corruption in the Greek parliament, and Germany herself broke EU fiscal rules on numerous occasions.

Recent economic performance offers Germany little incentive to change its thinking. Since the launch of the Euro, growth has been driven by exports from an increasingly competitive industrial sector. Rivals in the bloc could not keep pace by weakening their currencies as in pre-euro days, to the benefit of Germany. Germans argue that they are financially superior in Europe as they have a strong economy despite taking on the GDR (east Germany) after unification, and all the expenses that entailed.
The problem is, careful bankng manipulation, Euro policy dominated by Germany, combined with the ERM of the early 1990s, has meant that the rest of Europe has paid for German reunification. A fact which adds to the questionable motives of current German financial policy, and could be argued to be a major contributing factor to the Euro crisis.

Heiner Flassbeck, a former state secretary in the German finance ministry said this week, in an apparent attack on Schauble's policies;

“European monetary union gave us an opportunity to really go for that model – because other countries could not depreciate ... The small problem with that is that the others are now bankrupt.”

He hit the proverbial nail on the head. But it looks a lot more like purposeful domination and economic warfare, than it does another 'miracle'. Europe goes bankrupt whilst Germany becomes the largest exporter? Funny sort of miracle.

Be aware when economists and bankers talk about a need for "Germanic rules" in banking. They, knowingly or unknowingly, are referring to a system that will only benefit Germany.

Germans are not talking about increased financial controls in the way of sensible laws and regulations. How could they be, when German bank's economists have been ignoring the already established rules and legalities associated with operating in other countries (fraud, bribery, manipulation)?

No, German bankers are talking of nothing less than an attack on Capitalism, and a change of game to make everybody play by their rules. Anti-Capitalist rules designed to benefit Germany.

When the very German system will destroy the City of London, one must ask questions.

By putting this theory into practice, primarily in the countries of Europe but throughout the rest of the world as well, and by no means least in the Western Hemisphere, the German General Staff plans to complete its domination of the world."

When, as in the case with occupied France, Germany is able by imperceptible degrees to reach a point where there remains little practical difference between secret domination and open and avowed domination, she can pass from one system to the other without danger of an open revolt."

Buried within a recent Spiegel article posing as a breakthrough in modern science techniques, some dark race views can be found.

In Nazi race science, the views of evolution were scorned. The main element of this was the idea that humans derived from two entirely separate species, rather than the evolution of one.
This separation, fed the German superiority beliefs so that 'ethnic-Germans' were derived from a higher species, the modern human; and Russians, eastern-europeans, Jews, Roma, Afro-Carribeans, and anyone else Germans felt superior to, belonged to the "Untermenschen" or underclass, degenerate, sub-human, neanderthal group.

These views were the motivator and catalyst used for Eugenics and Genocide.

With that in mind, the article betrays the real views still held by various scientists in Germany; views celebrated and published in one of the most popular media entities in Germany...

It should be remembered that currently, european media is supporting the view of German superiority via supposed 'banking superiority'. The views expressed in German media against the Greeks are coming from a racially-superior standpoint. This is dangerous, and history must not be ignored.

German MEP Martin Schulz has confirmed he will seek to become parliament's next president.

It comes after the Socialist and Democrat group in parliament unanimously backed Schulz as its candidate for the presidency at a meeting on Thursday.

He is expected to take over as president from Polish MEP Jerzy Buzek after parliament votes on the presidency on 17 January 2012.

EPP leader Joseph Daul recently also gave his blessing to the deal, saying he regarded Schulz's presidency as "almost automatic".

Schulz, a veteran deputy, will be seen by some as a controversial choice as president. He was famously likened to a "Nazi commandant" by Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi during a debate in parliament.

The agreement between parliament's two biggest groups, the S&D and the EPP, to split the presidency over the current mandate has been criticised by other groups, including ALDE and the Greens.
ALDE deputy Sarah Ludford recently told this website that the "stitch-up" between the two groups was undemocratic.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage said, "The snarling angry face of Martin Schulz as European parliament president will be good for the eurosceptic cause."

Marta Andreasen, another UKIP member, said, "Shultz is known for his intolerance and often derisory language to all those that don't share his views."

A neurotic obsession is like a bone stuck in your throat. You can't swallow it and you can't spit it out. That is how the German media are hooked on America. It doesn't look quite sane.
Something very weird is going on between the Lowlands and Poland. Something neurotic, in tens of millions of minds. And while we know that you can't always generalize from media madness to ordinary people, we also know that the media swing a huge weight of influence. So when the German Organs of Propaganda go weird and hateful, get ready to worry. Really.

Examples of obsessive anti-Americanism are all over big German news magazines like Spiegel and Stern. For instance;

1. The Statue of Liberty with a death's head instead of the Romantic goddess of liberty.
2. A close-up of the American flag covered with "BLUT FÜR ÖL".

3. George Bush in front of a giant black cross, "A MISSION FROM GOD."

4. A horrible Abu Ghraib figure in black garb, headlined "THE TORTURERS OF BAGHDAD."
5. A sadistic-looking Rambo muscle man on the cover, emblazoned "OPERATION RAMBO --- The Secret Troops of the USA."

6. Germany's largest trade union, I.G Metall, used a picture of a cartoon Mosquito with Abe Lincoln's hat, for their large circulation magazine. The Magazine's Cover Read: "US-Firms in Germany: The (Blood-) Suckers". The article was headlined "The Plunderers are here!"

This is the mainstream press in Germany. In other words, what Leftist nutroots make up as paranoid fantasies becomes the dominant narrative in Germany. And their endless refrain is that American soldiers are no better than Nazis.

Judging by David's MedienKritik, the Germans just can't let go of Americans in their collective minds. They are hooked on anti-Americanism, and they can't turn it off. They can't just stop buying Der Spiegel, with its repetetive anti-American slander campaigns.

One German headline in 2007 was that apparently, US teens are going out at night to kill homeless people. It used to be Elvis and hip-hop, and now it's murdering street people for fun.

There are things to criticize about every country in the world. Nobody in the United States is completely satisfied, and Americans always look for ways to improve themselves, to solve problems and make progress. That's rational.

The German neurosis isn't like that. They're not saying, "we like this about America, but we don't like that." They just keep pushing outrageous slanders that have no basis in reality, and then get übermad about the US as moral defectives; the next week they come back and repeat the process. Then they do it again. And again. They can't swallow their anti-American fishbone, and they can't spit it out.

Obviously all this has something to do with Germany's neurotic relationship to its own past. Now in a sane world, you would think that the thirteen years of Nazi tyranny, murder and ruthless aggression would be vigorously repudiated still, as it was during the half-century after World War Two. Every single German Chancellor after you-know-who denounced the Nazis with apparent sincerity.

That's the way West Germany seemed to be going for half a century. About as sensible as you might hope, after what happened. But then two things happened. One was the unification of Germany. The unification was generally considered to be a good thing (though not by Margaret Thatcher), and it certainly rewarded supposed civilized West German behavior after WWII.

But it led to strains in the economy and competition between the East and West. And the East Germans had never bothered with de-Nazification. They had been taught that Hitler was bad because he was a Capitalist (when of course he was anti-capitalist, anti-Christian, anti-Gay, anti-Black, anti-women's freedom, anti-civilization, and most of all, anti-Semitic). East Germans knew all about hating America, because they had been taught to do it from 1933 onward.

The second off-the-rails event after fifty years was the rise of Gerhard Schroeder. Schroeder was the first chancellor to play the hate-America card outright for political popularity. It worked like a charm; Schroeder blatantly lied about the German economy and still got reelected, by comparing George W. Bush to ... (Yes. Right.) Chancellor Schroeder was the first big demagogue in half a century, and the German media have been stuck on that single obsessive anti-American chord ever since.

The German neurosis is part and parcel of the most worrisome development in Europe since the Soviets crumbled: the revival of open anti-Semitism. Like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, many Europeans seem to think that Israel is just the Little Satan and America the Big Satan. There is a mad edge to that theme --- far beyond rational criticism --- that is also worrying. It sounds like the same Teutonic Neurosis.

Germans tend to be perfectionists. When I visited Hamburg some years ago, passers-by dutifully pointed out that I had failed to park my rental car with the necessary precision. The police had to be notified. Then, when I happened to wander into the wrong elevator, my fellow passengers simply stared at me in frozen horror. I had violated some sacred taboo.

When perfectionists are confronted with an error --- and worse, a great moral failure, like the Nazi period --- they often have a very hard time coping. They have to blame others. To make things worse, the media constantly remind people about Hitler --- was he really what he was?

Like GermanyWatch has been saying, German media manipulation to keep the Euro crisis going for their benefit, has been in overdrive the last few weeks.

Axel Weber, former German central banker, has just confirmed in a talk that the crisis is being used and needs to worsen, in order to gain public support for extreme measures.

As the Eurozone debt crisis threatens banks and potentially the global economy, Axel Weber said he "fears" financial conditions will have to deteriorate more in Europe before leaders can take "drastic action."

Speaking at the Chicago Council of Global Affairs Thursday evening, Weber said policy makers need the political cover of an emergency to take action. Things have to get worse before they get better," he said. "If you act swiftly in the middle of a crisis people" appreciate the need for urgent action.

Deutsche Telekom’s T-Systems information technology unit is pushing regulators to introduce a certificate for German or European cloud operators to help companies guard data from the U.S. government.

As we mentioned previously, Facebook 'likes' have been banned in Germany under "data protection" issues (secretly meaning counter-espionage, the CIA part-funded Facebook), whilst German firms such as Siemens are gaining a frightening level of penetration of other country's infastructure (read Siemens Espionage).

Bearing in mind the record-breaking level of corruption Siemens has shown, and the commuter tracking, submarine building, birth certificate and passport montoring infiltration of Britain, any retaliatory behaviour against the Fatherland is clearly Verboten!

T-Systems plans to lure customers by emphasizing the security of its servers, over which it delivers its Internet- accessed computing services, Reinhard Clemens, the division’s chief executive officer, told reporters in Bonn on Sept. 12. This includes shielding clients from government access such as that allowed by the U.S. Patriot Act, he said.

“The Americans say that no matter what happens I’ll release the data to the government if I’m forced to do so, from anywhere in the world,’” Clemens said. “Certain German companies don’t want others to access their systems. That’s why we’re well-positioned if we can say we’re a European provider in a European legal sphere and no American can get to them.”

Deutsche Telekom and other telecommunications companies are promoting cloud-computing offerings as a safe way for businesses to outsource their data centers. A government seal may fence off the cloud offerings of T-Systems and European competitors such as Atos SA and Cap Gemini SA and give them an advantage over U.S rivals such as Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, and IBM.

“A German cloud” would be a “safe cloud,” Clemens said.

In May 2008, charges were filed against Deutsche Telekom for allegedly abusing call data to snoop on supervisory board members and journalists.In October 2008 the company confirmed that personal information of 17 million mobile phone customers had been copied.

Remember that the German State owns 32% of Deutsche Telekom.

Tons and tons of high-powered German assault rifles have been rescued by Libyan rebels from Muammar Gaddafi’s arsenals, weapons that “weren’t supposed to be there” (funny how German weapons always turn up where they are not supposed to be).

“The German government does not know how weapons of this type could have possibly ended up in Libya.” So they are not really there, in other words. The German government has the German weapons industry (shhh, not so loud) completely under control, you see. Right? Ja oder nein? Good. No abstentions here.

Post-war terrorism has German/Nazi fingerprints all over it.

One of the main links is the Francois Genoud/Ben Bella network.

One of the more relevant examples is that of former Algerian President Ahmed Ben Bella, a notorious early follower of Hitler, who was reborn as an Islamic Fundamentalist and was engaged in a coup attempt in Algeria that immediately threatened the King of Morocco.

Among Ben Bella's most prominent backers since the 1962 Algerian Revolution that first placed him in power was Francois Genoud, a member of the Swiss Nazi Party during World War II, who assisted Allen Dulles from 1943-45 in negotiations to redeploy Nazi intelligence assets into safe havens for later use.

Among those assets was Amt VI, the "foreign nationalities division" of SS General Walter Schellenberg's Sicherheitsdienst (SD), consolidating both the Second Division of Admiral Canaris's Abwehr and foreign nationalities division of the Waffen SS that maintained extensive Mideast networks through an alliance with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.

The Swiss-based Francois Genoud was the banker and one of the principal controllers of these Amt VI assets post-war.

At the age of 21, Genoud joined the National Front of Switzerland (NFS). NFS was a fascist group associated with Georges Oltramaire's National Union. Oltramaire' s family comes from a leading Swiss banking family who have sat for generations on the board of directors of the Lombard Odier Bank of Geneva. This bank became famous for its involvement with the Office of Strategic Services during World War II, dating from Allen Dulles's assignment in Berne, Switzerland.

Its facilities were used by Dulles to facilitate the surrender of SS Gen. Karl Wolff, head of the German army in northern Italy. Genoud was used as a personal intermediary between Dulles and SS General Wolff.

In 1940, Genoud set up a night club, Oasis, in Lausanne as a covert operation for the Abwehr in Lausanne. Prior to his operation in Lausanne , Genoud traveled extensively in the Mideast and met with the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem in 1936. His Abwehr cover enabled him to set up a spy nest throughout the Mideast.

His recruiting officer was an operative named Guimanll, the Mayor of Tiengen. Under these conditions, Genoud became one of the key go-betweens for spy-running operations and drug-smuggling activity in the Middle East and North Africa, especially in Tangiers.

By 1943, Genoud began using his banking connections to set in motion the networks which later became known as DieSpinne/OdeSSa.

The transfer of millions of marks from German, into Swiss banks, and the evacuation of key SS and Nazi leaders into Morocco, Spain, and Latin America were the principal aspects of this operation.

For this purpose a firm known as Deithelm Brothers was established in Lausanne under the personal sponsorship of Adolf Hitler' s personal secretary Martin Bormann, and functioned until the end of the 1940s, transporting out of Europe thousands of Nazi leaders.

Genoud befriended SS General Wolff, SS Captain Reichenberg,

Luftwaffe Gen. Hans Rudel, General Ramcke, and countless others, including Otto Skorzeny and Hitler's economics minister, Hjalmar Schacht . It appears that Genoud was arrested some time after the war, but freed due to the pressures of former Gestapo official and later Interpol chief Paul Dickopf.

In 1955, Genoud was in Tangiers with General Wolff and General Ramcke. In 1956, he met with Hjalmar Schacht in Cairo, along with Dr. Hans Reichenberg, where several financial investments into Morocco were created. During this time he met with Ben Barka and an operative named Skalli, both members of the opposition party in Morocco. While in Cairo, Genoud was introduced to the Algerian Front for National Liberation (FLN in French), led by Ahmed Ben Bella and his treasurer Mohammed Khidder. Genoud officially became a courier between Tangiers and Cairo, setting up the financial support operations for the FLN.

Over the course of these years many new Nazi International

operations were arranged through and into Argentina, a process Genoud aided. In Argentina, Hans Rudel, now deceased, was given the financing to create the Europe-Argentina Association. It was through this apparatus that SS Obersturmfuhrer Klaus Barbie's Cocaine operations in Latin America were arranged.

After the war, Genoud and the Diethelm brothers, operating through the Diethelm export-import company, financed a Nazi publication called Der Weg in 1948-49. Run by SS officers and based in Buenos Aires, this publication was one of the first post-war attempts to regroup the Nazi apparatus internationally.

In 1959, Genoud created the International Association of the Friends of the Arab World, along with Benoist-Mechin.

In September 1960, Genoud established relations with EIWakhil

el Kabbani, the head of the Arab Information Center in Geneva. His other business ventures included the creation of a Munich-based export-import firm, Arabo-Afrika, in conjunction with the old Nazi Reichenberg, who later became an economic adviser to President Houari Boumedienne of Algeria.

Genoud' s other contacts included the Egyptian ambassador to Berne, reputed to have been head of the Egyptian intelligence service, Fathy el Dib Mohammed.

The International Association of the Friends of the Arab World's officer in Geneva was Ibrahim Haeid, a Tunisian formeriy of the German Abwehr Intelligence service.

With his old-Nazi funds, new revenue from arms and drug-running, and the FLN treasury provided by Mohammed Khidder, Genoud established the Banque Commerciale Arabe in Lausanne.

At this point Lausanne became the center of FLN financing of numerous arms deals, usually made in Germany by former Nazis who had been recycled as arms merchants. Otto Skorzeny, based in Madrid, was part of the arms-smuggling operations.

Genoud also set up contacts between the old Nazi networks and the Palestinians. In April 1969, in Barcelona, at the "Europaiische Neue Ordnung," a special delegation of AlFatah spoke on the issue of the "Palestinian Revolution."

Genoud arranged for the training of AI-Fatah troops by former Nazis such as Karl van de Put of Belgium, formerly of the Afrika Corps, and Johann N. Schuller.

In September 1969, Genoud was involved as lawyer for two Palestinian terrorists who were members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). At this point, he was integrated into the "Arab Union of Lawyers," led by his old Moroccan friend Youssei. Another important link to Palestinian terrorism was Francois Duprat, the French fascist leader assassinated in 1979, who ran the Franco-Palestinian Association and helped set up the Breton liberation movement.

In the 1970s, Genoud expanded his banking operations and financing of the Nazi International. In 1971, his arms smuggling

operations into Lebanon expanded as well.

Through his front-man Guy Amaudruz, Genoud ran huge shipments of arms into the Mideast via Lebanon. At this time, Genoud, through Mohammed Khidder' s lawyer Louis Bosquet, arranged via Sylvain Dayan, a.k.a. Saadi Behhamou, and Antoine Kamouh from Intrabank-Beidas, a major arms-drugs deal.

In 1977, Genoud negotiated the release of terrorist Bruno Breguet from an Israeli prison.

Key to the entire Swiss banking operation in conjunction with Genoud is Dr. Alfred Schaeffer, the former chairman of the Union Bank of Switzerland and close confidante of Hjalmar Schacht.

Schaeffer had been in the center of pre- and postwar financial arrangements with Nazi-related financial matters, including the I.G. Farben financial holding company Interhandel A.G, a 'dummy' corporation of which Schaeffer was chairman.

This Interhandel A.G. was set up in 1938 by I.G. Farben, with Schaeffer pursuing a 20-year litigation against the U.S. government on behalf of Farben to unfreeze assets seized

in 1942.

Schaeffer's relationship with Schacht provides the key overlapping lead into the development with Genoud of the whole Muslim Brotherhood financing operation identified earlier.

In the 1950s, Schaeffer set up oil exploration operations in Egypt which were arranged by Schacht and other former Abwehr agents, through the Industrie und Handelsbank.

One of these agents living in Berne, Switzerland, Ahmed Huber, set up many of these operations.

Huber arranged for Genoud to meet with then-Egyptian President Gamel Nasser.
Along with Hans Ellenberger, Huber set up the Swiss-Arab Society in 1965. The former Swiss ambassador to Cairo, a certain Herr Parodi, operated closely with Huber and Ellenberger.

Genoud' s terrorist operations intersected various structures set up through the Nazi war funds financing scheme, utilizing the Abwehr Minorities Division, and Walter Schellenberg's SS-SD unit Amt VI.

As a keeper of the Nazi funds, Genoud was instrumental in arranging many terrorist operations. The recruitment by the Genoud-Abwehr apparatus of Ahmed Ben Bella demonstrates the method by which the old Nazi-Abwehr apparatus set up the Middle East fundamentalist operations.

Ben Bella's relative, who operated a radio transmitter in North Africa for the Abwehr, recruited Ahmed into the Mufti-Abwehr network.

Genoud even owned publishing rights to Hitler's last political testament, which was arranged through the help of Nazi propaganda minister Josef Goebbels's widow, a close friend of Genoud.

German political thuggery continues.

According to German European Union Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger, the EU should consider using some "unconventional" methods to increase motivation among Greek officials for solving the country's problems - like sending in the Blue Helmets.

One tactic for pulling the debt-stricken country out of crisis could be replacing "the obviously ineffective administrators" there. Because Greek officials have failed at collecting outstanding taxes and selling state-owned assets as planned, Oettinger alleged, Officers from other EU nations should be sent in to do their jobs instead. "They could operate without concern for resistance and end the inefficiency," he told Bild.
After all: "Those who demand solidarity from the other countries must also be prepared to give up partial responsibility for a certain time."

Another suggestion was "flying the flags of deficit sinners at half mast in front of EU buildings," the member of Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative Christian Democrats told German Newspaper Bild. "It would just be a symbol, but would still be a big deterrent."

He also "suggests that Governments must justify to their citizens" the idea that "countries must give up their budgetry sovereignty to the EU".

What he really means of course, is send in the Blue Helmets as Germany's debt collectors, and let Germany control your economy.

He finishes his interview by stating that "we must tell the citizens clearly; The political model of the western world...is over".

Germany will argue before the UN's highest judicial body that it is no longer liable to pay compensation for Nazi era crimes.

Germany and Italy will present arguments next week before the United Nations' highest court in a dispute over reparation claims for victims of Third Reich abuses that have been lodged before Italian courts.

From Monday, the two countries' lawyers will argue their cases before judges of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), where Germany applied in 2008 to stop Italy from allowing civil claims for Nazi war crimes.

Germany will put its case on Monday, Italy will follow on Tuesday, then on Wednesday, Greece, a "non-party" state in the case, will state its position.
A second round of arguments will follow Thursday and Friday before judges retire to make a decision.
Germany has argued that by permitting claims for abuses committed between September 1943 and May 1945 Italy "failed to respect the jurisdictional immunity" that modern-day Germany enjoyed under international law.

Germany has urged the ICJ to order Italy to live up to its international responsibility and take steps to ensure decisions by Italian courts "infringing on German sovereign immunity" cannot be enforced.
"To date, approximately 250 plaintiffs have brought civil actions against Germany, pending in 24 district courts and two appeals courts," Berlin said in its application.

Also before the Hague-based court is Greece, because relatives of victims of a 1944 massacre at Distomo, in Greece, which claimed 218 lives, turned to the Italian courts after their case stalled in Athens.
In 1997, a Greek court ordered Germany to pay €28.6 million ($37 million) to the Distomo plaintiffs, but opposition from Berlin and reluctance from Greek justice ministers meant the ruling was never enforced.
An Italian court, however, enforced the original ruling and slapped a financial charge on two buildings owned by the German state.

Germany has always refused to pay, saying the issue of compensation was settled by a bilateral agreement with Greece dating from 1960.

"The consequences would be severe," the director-general for legal affairs in Germany's foreign ministry, Susanne Wasum-Rainer, told judges of the International Court of Justice in the Hague.
"Once state immunity has been perforated, there is no reason not to extend the exceptions to a range of other areas," she told the 16-judge bench.
Wasum-Rainer said the whole system of victim compensation since World War II "would be put into question and and opened to challenge before domestic courts."
"All inter-state peace settlements concluded after an armed conflict will be put into jeopardy by allowing domestic courts to re-examine and reopen them," she warned.

Established in 1945, the ICJ is the UN's highest judicial organ and settles disputes between states. It is the only one of the six main UN bodies not located in New York.

German attempts at shirking guilt and responsibility began before Germany fell in 1945. The documented plan was to "arrange sympathy" when the Allies invaded. Germany has convinced the world that she was actually a victim of her own behaviour. Like an abusive husband who beats his wife, and convinces her its not his fault.

All of the revisionists of history, need to watch the Nuremberg Rally footage closely. The Nazis were certainly a uniquely sadistic phenomenon, but they were just a political party. A party that came to power with majority public support in Germany. Hitler, whether the German public agreed with his Jewish conspiracy or not, was preaching to the converted. Germans wanted to stick two fingers up to the US, UK, and France via the Versaille Treaty, denying their responsibilities again.

Many Germans, and some UK/US historians make the mistake of furthering Germany's lack of responsibility by blaming the cause of WW2 on the harsh conditions of the Versaille Treaty. Like a criminal blaming his previous prison sentence for the reason he committed a crime again. Their argument is not credible and the work of fiction, yet people still swallow the lie wholesale.

Yes, WW2 was a long time ago, but it is dangerous to allow the Germans to live the fantasy that WW2 and all that went with it, was caused and carried out by someone else (Nazis), not Germans.

The 1961 trial in Israel of Holocaust organizer Adolf Eichmann was a global sensation. But it made West Germany nervous. Chancellor Konrad Adenauer was afraid the trial could expose the Nazi pasts of government officials in Bonn. And his government did everything it could to influence the proceedings.

The trial against Adolf Eichmann before the Jerusalem District Court was a global event. A camera team from the United States filmed the proceedings in the courtroom, a converted theater. Hundreds of journalists sitting in the rows of seats on the courtroom floor and in the galleries, or following the trial on screens in the press room, watched the testimony of witnesses as they described the firing squads and the gas chambers.

Eichmann, the former SS Obersturmbannführer (lieutenant colonel) and chief organizer of the Holocaust, sat in a bulletproof glass cell at the front of the room, on the left-hand side.

Rolf Vogel, a heavyset German with a round face, sat with the reporters. He was accredited as an employee of the Cologne-based Deutsche Zeitung, a business paper that was later acquired by Handelsblatt. In fact, Vogel was an agent with Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) — and he had been sent by the Chancellery in Bonn to monitor the trial.

Germany’s political leaders couldn’t have picked a more loyal agent.
The Nazis had classified Vogel, as a “half-Jew.” His mother was deported to the Theresienstadt concentration camp, while he was ejected from the German military, the Wehrmacht. The Berlin native attributed the fact that he had survived what he called the “horrible time” to then Chancellery Chief of Staff Hans Globke, the most important and most controversial member of the Adenauer administration.

As a senior official at the Interior Ministry of the German Reich, Globke, had written a legal annotation on the perfidious Nuremberg Race Laws, in which he had not expressed any objection to the discrimination against Jews. But Globke’s annotation was helpful to so-called mongrels like Vogel, because it placed them in a better position than radical Nazis had originally intended, and the BND agent was grateful to Globke for the rest of his life.

A reserve officer in the postwar German military, the Bundeswehr, Vogel had already handled a number of delicate missions for Globke. He arranged the first arms deal with Israel, for example, and procured Uzi submachine guns for the Bundeswehr.

Now his mission was to influence the Eichmann trial, for which he was paid a flat rate of 2,000 deutschmarks per month plus a per diem, expenses and first-class plane tickets, to be paid from the budget of the Federal Government Press Office. It was Chancellor Adenauer himself who had sent Vogel to Israel, telling him: “You have to go to the Eichmann trial for me.”
Vogel was happy to oblige. He fed the Israeli prosecutors exonerative material on Globke and did everything he could to ensure that the prosecution remained limited to Eichmann.

He wanted to ensure that the Israelis did not emphasize, before the world public, the roles played by many other Germans. Together with a journalist for the tabloid newspaper Bild, Vogel even stole documents from an East German attorney in Jerusalem who was trying to capitalize on the Eichmann trial’s propaganda value for East Germany. Vogel feared that the documents could incriminate West German politicians or officials.

The Vogel mission was part of one of the most sensitive diplomatic and intelligence operations in the history of West Germany. From the government’s standpoint, there was nothing less at stake than the standing of Germans throughout the world and, along with it, possibly even the survival of the country.

The public had every reason to fear that the Cold War could become hot at any time. But which allies would still be willing to defend (West) Berlin, Bonn wondered, if the Eichmann trial created the impression that West Germany was a refuge for incorrigible former Nazis?
Today the number of German and Austrian perpetrators involved in the Holocaust is estimated at more than 200,000. Only a tiny number had already faced justice at the time. Fears in Bonn that the Eichmann trial could unleash an avalanche of accusations seemed more than justified.
When a US general with CIA connections offered to help the chancellor “soften the impact of the trial,” Adenauer said, according to BND records, that he was “very much interested.”
The Foreign Ministry also feared the consequences of the case. The Eichmann trial would “give a boost to all those forces abroad that view Germany and the Federal Republic with suspicion and resentment,” noted Foreign Minister Heinrich von Brentano.

Brentano, wrote to the chancellor: “In light of this horrid trial, we will be forced to clearly distance ourselves from these crimes.” The emphasis was on the words “forced to.” Investigating the Holocaust and confronting the Nazi past were clearly at the bottom of the Adenauer administration’s priority list.

By chance, the daughter of a Jew who had fled to Argentina from the Third Reich had become friends with one of Eichmann’s sons. In 1957, the emigrant wrote to the Hesse state attorney general in Frankfurt am Main, Fritz Bauer, to report that the Nazi war criminal was living in Buenos Aires under a false name.

Bauer, a Jewish social democrat, had once fled from the Nazis himself. He wanted to have Eichmann extradited, but because he didn’t trust the German authorities, he inquired at the US consulate in Frankfurt to determine whether the Americans would help bring about the extradition of a “proven Nazi war criminal” from another country. But the US official he contacted did not understand who Bauer was referring to in his cryptic inquiry — and did nothing.
An Israeli diplomat was more interested and notified the Mossad. But the Israeli secret service agency had its doubts about Bauer’s information. A Mossad agent drove past Eichmann’s house in Buenos Aires, but he couldn’t imagine that the organizer of the Holocaust could possibly be living in such humble circumstances. A second Mossad agent came to a similar conclusion.
Upon Bauer’s insistence, the Mossad finally sent a third man to Argentina who was considered a particularly capable investigator. On March 19, the Israeli agent observed the former SS Obersturmbannführer hanging up laundry in front of the house.

Five weeks later, the first members of what eventually became a 10-member Mossad team that was to kidnap Eichmann arrived in Buenos Aires.

After capturing Eichmann, he was hidden for a few days in a converted bedroom in a mansion in Buenos Aires. Then he was instructed to put on a flight attendant’s uniform for the Israeli airline El Al. On May 22, Eichmann arrived in Tel Aviv and was taken to a secluded prison.

The German prosecutor Bauer, who had tipped off the Israelis, was notified in advance of the success of the mission. For the Adenauer administration, though, the arrest came as a complete surprise. Officials in Bonn were extremely worried that Eichmann’s testimony could incriminate West German politicians or government agencies because, as it turned out later, the BND had known Eichmann's location, and was even considered a BND agent.

On July 6, an aide to a “coordination meeting at the Federal Chancellery” noted that the federal government had to make it clear “that Eichmann had worked as a henchman of the Himmler SS machine and not as an agent of the then German Reich.” This, the aide argued, would make it impossible to link West German officials with Nazi pasts “to Eichmann’s misdeeds.”

A Foreign Ministry official wanted to prevent “leading public figures in the Federal Republic” from being incriminated. He argued it had to be demonstrated that only a “small group of individuals” had implemented the Holocaust and that those who “were not directly involved could not have had any knowledge of it.”
The funding for Eichmann’s defense lawyer also appeared to present a problem. What would happen if the Communist bloc tried to fund the defense and thus exert influence? It seemed to make more sense for the West German Foreign Ministry to assume the costs, allowing it a say in the defense strategy.
To avoid alarming the parliament and the public, the ministry advised Eichmann’s attorney to file a petition for the assumption of costs “as discreetly as possible.” Hans Rechenberg (BND confidential informant 7396) was instructed to handle the funding in the interim. Rechenberg had experience with Nazis, after having served as the press assistant for Hitler’s economics minister, Walther Funk.

Rechenberg was already negotiating with a Frankfurt bank to secure a loan of 100,000 deutschmarks for Eichmann’s defense when SPIEGEL reported that the federal government intended to pay Eichmann’s attorneys. Foreign Minister Brentano quickly canceled the project. In the end, Israel paid Eichmann’s legal fees.
The German government’s behavior in the Eichmann affair reveals a mentality which goes a long way toward explaining why Nazi war crimes were not pursued energetically in the early years of the Federal Republic. Damage control, particularly in the case of Eichmann, was seen as much more important. There were two departments at the Foreign Ministry devoted exclusively to handing the case. The “Committee of State Secretaries on the Protection of State Secrets,” headed by Globke, even established an interdepartmental task force, which included representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Justice Ministry, the Defense Ministry, the Chancellery, the BND, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) and the Munich-based Institute of Contemporary History (aka the re-writers association).

The group was supposed to be kept secret. Its mission was to orchestrate Bonn’s Eichmann policy and, most of all, to determine whether all Germans who were incriminated in the Eichmann trial had been prosecuted after 1945. The goal was to fend off “potential accusations” that Bonn had protected Nazi war criminals.
The group was headed by Foreign Ministry official Hans Gawlik, who had joined the Nazi Party in 1933 and was a public prosecutor in Breslau (now Wroclaw, Poland) during the war. He defended various senior SS members in the Nuremberg war crimes trials.
It was later revealed that after assuming office Gawlik, who was hard of hearing and seemed harmless, had warned German war criminals against traveling to countries where they had been sentenced in absentia and could now face arrest.

Lorenz Bessel-Lorck represented the BfV on the task force. As a public prosecutor in the northern city of Flensburg prior to joining the BfV, Bessel-Lorck had helped a former euthanasia doctor continue practicing under a false name. This doctor had contributed to the murders of more than 100,000 sick and disabled Germans under the Nazis’ euthanasia program.
The task force seriously considered assigning a share of the blame to the victims of Nazi crimes. A representative of the Justice Ministry was tasked with procuring documents indicating “that a large proportion of the guards at concentration camps outside the German Reich consisted of Estonians, Lithuanians, Poles, Ukrainians and Jews” — as if these people had volunteered to work in concentration camps and had not acted on German orders.
As historical advisor, Hans Buchheim of the Institute of Contemporary History wrote brief reports on issues such as: “How many Germans of non-Jewish heritage did the Nazi regime persecute?” According to Buchheim, they made up no more than 5 percent of concentration camp inmates during the war.
“Of course, as a statistic this doesn’t make much of an impression,” the historian wrote to Gawlik, and devised a perfidious argument to make the small figure seem more significant than it was.
Buchheim claimed that only non-Jewish political prisoners had been “true opponents or at least critics of the regime,” because they had offered their opposition voluntarily. Jewish concentration camp inmates, Buchheim argued, would have been killed anyway, “irrespective of their individual behavior.” Therefore, according to Buchheim’s absurd logic, a non-Jewish regime opponent was far more valuable than a Jewish one.

The civil servants working under Gawlik also considered other ways of exerting influence. Bonn diplomats had discovered that one of Eichmann’s judges and the head of German affairs in the Israeli Foreign Ministry had filed petitions for compensation that had either been declined or were still pending. The German Foreign Ministry perceived this situation as being “particularly unpleasant” and urged the Interior and Justice Ministries to show good will.
The Eichmann task force had a dedicated line to Jerusalem. In addition to BND agent Vogel, representatives of the Federal Government Press Office and a delegation of observers from the Foreign Ministry had also traveled to Jerusalem to attend the trial.

The Germans were soon at loggerheads. In their reports to government headquarters in Bonn, they accused one another of “excessive ambition” or excessive drinking. Apparently the head of the delegation was so drunk on a number of occasions that a waiter had to carry him to his room.
Members of the Foreign Ministry delegation reported that BND agent Vogel was deficient when it came to his “education and, to a large extent, his personal behavior.” When Vogel disagreed with other members of the German delegation, he apparently threatened them “with criminal complaints, disciplinary action and newspaper articles,” all the while citing “his close ties to Mr. Chancellor.”

The Bonn envoys had in fact merely been instructed to monitor the trial. Of course, a few of them spread apologist theories among journalists, diplomats and the Israeli prosecutors. They downplayed the numbers of perpetrators or claimed, against their better judgment, that there had been no violent anti-Semitic excesses in the Third Reich before the pogrom known as Reichskristallnacht in 1938.

It was, after all, a hopeless endeavor. Bonn’s representatives were trying to convince correspondents that horrible atrocities had not just been committed by Germans, but also by people from the Baltic countries and elsewhere.
And then the same correspondents heard courtroom accounts like that of a father who described the moment he saw his three-year-old daughter in Auschwitz for the last time. As she was standing in line in front of the gas chamber, he said, he watched her red coat became smaller and smaller.
Many in the courtroom wept. Prosecutor Gabriel Bach spent several minutes leafing through papers in an effort to regain his self-control. He had just bought his young daughter a red coat two weeks before the trial. Fortunately for the Germans, the Israeli hosts ignored many of their indiscretions.

This was the situation in 1960 and 1961: Israel had put Eichmann on trial to galvanize its own young people and the world public. The crime of a century had only played a secondary role in the Nuremberg trials and, 15 years after the end of the war, threatened to fall into oblivion.
The German government, for its part, sought to create the impression that the Holocaust was no longer an issue.
To this end, Chancellor Adenauer availed himself of the services of the BND once again. The intelligence agency’s files on Eichmann consist of 3,000 pages. SPIEGEL has gained access to the majority of these documents, which demonstrate the lengths to which the BND went to rescue Bonn’s reputation.
The agency, for example, investigated West German journalists who, like Bölling, were reporting from Jerusalem. It looked into an Eichmann exhibit in Munich because it involved Globke. It tried to influence a dubious witness because the man, a former member of the German military administration in Greece, had accused Globke of being involved in the deportation of Greek Jews. The BND held out the prospect of a job for the man, insisting that it was only doing so as a “friendly gesture” — and, of course, in return for the man agreeing not to reveal his information. But he turned down the offer.
Most importantly, the BND was to find out what testimony Eichmann was giving or had given on “public figures in West Germany, and active or former members of our own service.”

The intelligence service had learned that Eichmann, while still in Argentina, had already given two journalists extensive interviews. For months, BND sources and employees tried to get hold of the transcripts. But a few weeks after the Eichmann kidnapping, the magazine Life was already ahead of them. When the BND finally found out about it, a senior BND official asked a CIA counterpart whether it would be helpful for the German government to lean on Washington so that the US government would “suppress” publication of the story.
The CIA advised against this approach, noting that this was something not even the US government could do. The Americans apparently had a different understanding of the vaunted principle of freedom of the press in a free country.

In the first half of October 1960, the BND did manage to gain access to the world’s most famous prisoner. Eichmann occupied the only cell in a high-security police building near the port city of Haifa, which had been built by the former British colonial rulers. To prevent him from committing suicide, his guards replaced the glass lenses in his glasses with plastic lenses and had doctors examine him twice daily.
A BND source reported at length on the first visit by Eichmann’s defense team. The report included such details as a description of the security measures (“barbed wire and sentries”), the body search of visitors (“superficial”), the duration of the conversation (“2.5 hours”) and Eichmann’s condition (“upright, mentally alert, confident and not fearful or intimidated”).
The conversation with the attorneys took place in a room that was bisected by a wall of glass and plastic. Eichmann sat behind the wall. The cables for the headphones and microphones passed through the plastic. “While blinking his eyes,” the prisoner apparently indicated that he believed that the conversation was being recorded.

The BND was soon familiar with Eichmann’s statements to his Israeli interrogators, his letters to his brother Robert in Linz, the conversations with his attorneys and even the telegrams the attorneys were sending each other.
The BND gained its most important insight early on — on Oct. 25, 1960. In a “strictly confidential” memo, the agency noted that when asked about Globke, Eichmann had told his interrogators that the name “meant nothing to him, at least not in connection with the ‘mission of the final solution.’” Therefore, the memo continued, Eichmann “could not testify against Globke.”

The BND later gained the impression that Eichmann was pursuing the “well-meaning intention not to jeopardize” individuals living in freedom. However, BND headquarters did not believe that he could sustain this position.

In February 1961, two months before the trial was set to begin, the chancellor finally weighed in. Adenauer issued BND agent Vogel a letter of recommendation for a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion. Vogel was told to find out what Eichmann had told the Israelis about Globke.
Ben-Gurion met with the German emissary at the Sharon Hotel in the resort town of Herzlia. The small-statured Israeli prime minister with the Einstein hairstyle was a social democrat of Polish origin who had immigrated to Palestine in 1906. Ben-Gurion had tea and cookies served to his visitor and, according to Vogel, said that there was no need to talk about Globke. “If Konrad Adenauer has someone working for him, he’s investigated him more than we ever could,” Ben-Gurion said.

To this day, this remains the version told by the parties involved. They insist that there were no agreements with Bonn to protect Globke or other officials or politicians in the Eichmann trial. But is this true?
The Israelis were in dire straits in 1960 and 1961. Their military urgently needed weapons (to fight groups in the middle east trained and ideologically driven by Nazis, inc Otto Skorzeny), and the young country’s ailing economy was dependent on financial assistance. Adenauer had promised the Israeli premier both only a few weeks before Eichmann’s arrest.
But then the Nazi war criminal was arrested and the negotiations over the details were suspended.

According to documents in the Israel State Archives in Jerusalem, Adenauer had his staff informed the Israeli negotiator that he could not meet with him because he was about to leave on vacation. After that, then Economics Minister Ludwig Erhard was called away on an urgent matter and was also unavailable.
The Foreign Ministry, in particular, stonewalled the Israelis.

The diplomats feared that if it were revealed that Bonn was supporting Israel to a significant extent, “the Federal Republic’s position in the Middle East would be jeopardized.”
Globke, of all people, told the Israeli negotiator that Bonn would wait until Eichmann had been sentenced before making the first tranche of the loan available to Jerusalem. Otherwise, Globke argued, people could get the “wrong impression” that there was a connection between the trial and the German aid to Israel.

The conversation with Globke took place on June 2, 1961, more than 14 months after Adenauer’s pledge to Ben-Gurion — and right in the middle of the Eichmann trial.
Was Bonn taking a wait-and-see approach so as not to relinquish important leverage against the Israelis? Or did Adenauer truly fear the reaction of the world public if it became known that Bonn had promised loans and weapons to Israel during the trial?
Outraged over the Germans’ playing for time, a senior Israeli official wrote: “They (the Germans) have lied and cheated us for years.” Then Israeli Foreign Minister Golda Meir wrote in the margin of the document: “This is true.” Behind the scenes, Israeli diplomats discussed whether “pressure can be applied on West Germany” by way of the Eichmann trial.
It would have been an easy thing to do. The historian Hanna Yablonka has demonstrated how the legendary Zionist Golda Meir influenced the Eichmann trial several times for political reasons. In one notable example, the connections between the Nazis and the Palestinian Grand Mufti of Jerusalem were highlighted in the courtroom. Meir could also have pilloried West Germany, where many former Nazi perpetrators still worked in the ministries, the administration, the intelligence services and the economy.

But Israel needed the financial aid, the submarines and the tanks, and German Defense Minister Franz Josef Strauss, who had also negotiated the arms shipments directly with Ben-Gurion, left no doubt that the Israelis were to protect Bonn’s reputation if they wanted weapons: “I have told my contacts that it is a matter of course that if the Federal Republic supports the security of Israel, it will not be held collectively liable, morally, politically or journalistically, for the crimes of a past generation in connection with the Eichmann trial.”

The Israelis had shown “understanding and responsiveness” for this position, Strauss reported. And so it happened that the question of how the Nazis had managed to involve significant portions of German society in the Holocaust was largely ignored.
“We only introduced information into the trial that was relevant for Eichmann,” says Gabriel Bach, the last remaining member of prosecution team still alive today. The Globke issue, he adds, simply wasn’t relevant.
Soon BND agent Vogel and the delegation of observers were sending reports to Bonn detailing their successes.

June 5, 1961: The judges made “a noticeable effort, while examining the witnesses, to highlight the resistance movement, particularly among Germans, as small as it was.”
June 15, 1961: In the indictment by Attorney General Gideon Hausner, “the word ‘Germans’ was always replaced with the word ‘Nazis’ whenever possible.”
June 29, 1961: The prosecutors were exhibiting an “absolutely positive view of State Secretary Globke.”
July 14, 1961: The Israeli Foreign Ministry had agreed “not to bring up” the case of diplomat Karl Werkmeister again. At the end of the trial, it was revealed that Bonn’s ambassador in Stockholm had once written maliciously anti-Semitic situation reports from Hungary.
July 25, 1961: Vogel reported that he had “just consulted with Attorney General Hausner and Chief Prosecutor Dr. Bach, together and separately, about the closing argument.”

Whether the Israeli position was always correctly portrayed in these reports is still not entirely clear. Former Prosecutor Bach, for example, denies ever having held a “positive view” of Globke. He notes that BND agent Vogel was apparently merely trying to throw his weight around.
It is clear, however, that Eichmann’s attorney gave his client a book about Globke and that the prisoner wrote a 40-page comment on the book. Attorney General Hausner asked Ben-Gurion whether there were political reasons not to introduce these notes into the trial. “There are,” Ben-Gurion replied. And, of course, Globke was not summoned to testify.
Neither an appearance by the head of the German Chancellery nor the inclusion of Eichmann’s notes in the trial would have changed Eichmann’s conviction, because there was no question that the former SS Obersturmbannführer was guilty. And to this day, no credible document has turned up that establishes a connection among Eichmann, Globke and the Holocaust.

Eichmann died on the night of May 31, 1962 in the prison in Ramla, a city 20 kilometers southeast of Tel Aviv. When the execution squad placed the noose around his neck, he was asked whether he would like to say a few last words.
Eichmann sang the praises of Germany, Austria and Argentina, greeted his wife and family and ended with the sentence: “I am ready.” Each of the two executioners pressed a button, one of which opened the trap door. Eichmann fell three meters to his death.

A week later, Adenauer met with the deputy defense minister and current president of Israel, Shimon Peres. The chancellor asked his visitor to express his deep appreciation to Ben-Gurion “for the way the Eichmann trial was conducted and brought to an end. It was outstanding. I will never forget it.”
In August 1962, Adenauer approved military aid worth 240 million deutschmarks.

German Intelligence Shredded Files On Nazis

Allegations that the German secret service destroyed hundreds of documents relating to the Nazi war criminal Alois Brunner have sparked calls for a closer examination of the activities of former top Nazi officials who fled to the Middle East after the Second World War.
Between 1994 and 1997, the Bundesnachtrichtendienst, or BND, shredded 581 documents about the aide to Adolf Eichmann, the German news magazine Der Spiegel reported on July 20, citing Bodo Hechelhammer, a scholar who heads a research team commissioned to explore the history of the foreign intelligence agency.

The report has reinforced speculation that Brunner, a former officer in Adolf Hitler's paramilitary organisation, the SS, who was responsible for the deportation of more than 128,500 Jews to concentration camps, worked for the BND after the war.

The disclosure has also led to renewed public pressure for a detailed investigation into the post-war lives of former Nazi officials who escaped Germany to the Middle East as allied troops closed in - in Brunner's case, to Syria.

Efraim Zuroff, the director of the Jerusalem office of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, which among its activities, campaigns for the prosecution of Nazi war criminals, said the latest revelations about the BND cast Germany, as well as the agency itself, in an especially bad light.

"It flies in the face of our whole perception that Germany had done a complete turnabout and was totally committed to democracy and to atoning and compensating for the crimes. We see here that the public face of Germany was doing the right thing, while the private face was doing the exact opposite," Mr Zuroff said.
The document destruction, Mr Zuroff said, "clearly shows" the BND "have something to hide".

However George Tenet, the CIA Director at the time, insists that the first he heard about Curveball's unreliability from Germany was two years after the invasion – "too late to do a damn thing about it".

It seems 'Curveball' was a German Intelligence BND asset, for the purposes of providing fake intelligence to discredit the US and UK.

German-Canadian Arms Dealer Gets Retrial

A German court Tuesday ordered the partial re-trial of Karlheinz Schreiber, a Canadian-German arms dealer who was a key player in a party funding scandal that helped propel Chancellor Angela Merkel to power.

Schreiber, 77, was sentenced to eight years behind bars in May 2010 after being found guilty of withholding some 7.5 million euros ($10.5 million) in taxes between 1988 and 1993.

But the Federal Court of Justice called for clarification over whether Schreiber was actually liable to pay taxes in Germany and whether charges of bribery had in fact exceeded the statute of limitations.
Schreiber played a central role in a sprawling slush-fund affair that rocked Merkel's Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party in the 1990s and tarnished the legacy of former chancellor Helmut Kohl.

At the height of the scandal in 1999, Merkel wrote an editorial in the daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung calling for Kohl to come clean and for the party to break with its murky past.
Merkel's willingness to challenge her former mentor during the scandal rapidly inflated her meagre profile and she was elected head of the CDU the following year.

Schreiber was also embroiled in a scandal involving former Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney, who admitted in 2007 that he had accepted 225,000 dollars in cash from him after leaving office.
The former leader insisted this had been a "mistake," not wrongdoing. He said he was paid to lobby foreign politicians to buy Thyssen light armoured vehicles that Schreiber was trying to have built in Canada.
Canadian federal police had first accused Mulroney in 1995 of accepting kickbacks from Schreiber for the purchase of Airbus jets for carrier Air Canada in 1988.

Mulroney subsequently sued the Canadian government for libel and, under oath, denied any illicit dealings with Schreiber.
He received a government apology and a 2.1-million-dollar settlement and the case was closed.

NHS Hospitals To Be Taken Over By German Firm?

"A German company has been in talks to take over NHS hospitals, the first tangible evidence that foreign multinationals will be able to run state-owned acute services, a market worth £8bn, the Guardian can reveal.

On the eve of the last Commons vote on the government's bill before it heads to the Lords this week, freedom of information requests reveal a series of meetings focused on "potential opportunities in London" between officials from the Department of Health, the NHS, and one of the largest German private hospital chains, Helios.

Once EU competition law applies to the health service there would be no barrier to handing over the running of NHS hospitals to non-British firms. Helios has a record of turning around failing hospitals, largely by cutting staff or wage levels. Local politicians have accused it of being motivated more by revenues than by patient care.

Documents obtained by campaigners at Spinwatch show the Department of Health secretly plans to hand over the running of up to 20 NHS hospitals to foreign firms, despite the prime minister's pledge that there will be "no privatisation of the NHS"."

Former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on Sunday called for the creation of a "United States of Europe," saying the bloc needed a common government to avoid future economic crises.

"The current crisis makes it relentlessly clear that we cannot have a common currency zone without a common fiscal, economic and social policy," Schroeder said.
He added: "We will have to give up national sovereignty."

"From the European Commission, we should make a government which would be supervised by the European Parliament. And that means the United States of Europe."

"Great Britain causes the greatest problems. (It is) not in the euro but the British nevertheless always want to participate when it comes to designing a European economic area," he said. "That doesn't work."

As we mentioned previously in Rewriting History - Playing Victim, Germany is still, after all these years and several devastating wars, obsessed with the idea of "Ethnic Germans".

The League of Expellees (Bund der Vertriebenen, BdV) opened its annual national "Homeland Day" commemorations this year with new demands and strong attacks against several east European neighboring countries. BdV President, Erika Steinbach, demands that the German government finally declare a national day of commemoration for the German WW2 "victims of expulsion" and include BdV functionaries in delegations on trips to foreign countries.

Germans had been resettled after the war because they had extensively collaborated with the Nazis and had participated in the destruction of Czechoslovakia, Rumania, and Poland.

Steinbach, a parliamentarian in the German Bundestag, also claims that the Theresienstadt concentration camp in Czechoslovakia had "diligently continued to function, even without Hitler." Steinbach also attacked the annual Moscow anniversary celebrations of the victory over Nazi Germany, and announced her league's new memorial activities.
Her statements, which set the tone for the local "Homeland Day" commemoration events throughout the next month across Germany were made last Saturday at a BdV ceremony in Berlin. This ceremony was greeted with messages of welcome from German President Christian Wulff and Chancellor Angela Merkel.

During a meeting of the management committee of the CDU's parliamentary group in 2010, Steinbach said she couldn't change the fact that Poland had mobilized its forces in March 1939 -- in other words, months before Germany invaded in September 1939.

It has been German government policy for decades, to spend millions on re-locating ethnic-Germans to territories deemed as having a Germanic history, especially since the Kohl Chancellorship and reunification.

In the course of her speech last Saturday at the "Homeland Day" ceremony in Berlin, BdV President Erika Steinbach alleged that even after the victory over the Nazi regime, methods of "terror" were still being applied in east and southeast Europe. Steinbach, using a formulation insinuating a similarity between the Allies and the German criminals running the concentration camps, was referring to Nazi concentration camp buildings being used to house German deportation candidates but also to imprison Nazi war criminals. "Buchenwald and Theresienstadt continued diligently to function even without Hitler," she said.

Steinbach announced in her speech that in the near future, the BdV would express its interpretation of history via various activities of its own. For example the BdV's Centre against Expulsions Foundation is planning to open a new exhibition in the German Bundestag to be presented, beginning in March 2012, in Berlin's Palace of the Crown Prince.

The exhibits focus on a timeframe extending from the origins of "Germandom" in east and southeast Europe to the integration of the displaced persons in the Federal Republic of Germany. With this approach, claims Steinbach, "the historical context of the expulsions cannot be set, shortsightedly and ahistorically, at the beginning of the Second World War," because the "roots of expulsion" extend back to the "middle of the 19th Century." Referring of course, to previous reasons for Lebensraum.

"Only a few states in Europe," Steinbach continued, referring to Poland and the Czech Republic, "are still refusing to cooperate." That is why "German policy" must now apply pressure. She "appeals to the German government," on its future trips abroad, "not to include only business delegations," but "also representatives of the expellees."

This is "particularly necessary, when it involves historically mined terrain." It is not difficult to recognize that Steinbach is thinking particularly of future trips to Warsaw or Prague. Concluding, Steinbach called for finally declaring a national day of commemoration for the "victims of expulsion." This is exactly what the German Bundestag had commissioned the federal government to do last February.

The date still under consideration is August 5, the anniversary of the adoption in 1950 of the "Charter of the German Homeland Expellees." The "Charter" claims that the German "expellees" were "those hardest hit by the suffering of that period," that their fate is "a global problem, whose solution demands the highest ethical responsibility and commitment to enormous efforts."

This year's "Homeland Day," will be commemorated throughout the country. Numerous BdV regional, district and community organizations will hold public events to commemorate the flight and resettlement of many Germans from east and southeast Europe.

For last Saturday's inaugural ceremony, the German Minister of the Interior ordered that the German flag be flown on all federal government administrative and other official buildings as well as on all its auxiliary facilities. Regional and local events commemorating "Homeland Day" are usually organized in close cooperation with representatives at the respective state levels - with the presence of regional ministers as well as community personalities.

Germany's covert backing for terrorist groups, as well as support for minorities in Other Countries, is easier to understand when you consider this ethnic-victim stance.

If any British person was talking about 'ethnic Brit' there would be widespread condemnation and accusations of being far-right.

Yet the various German charities supporting ethnic terms are left, right and centre. Meaning it is not a party view, but a general view. These ethnic political concepts are being used to legitimize claims against neighboring countries.

As we mentioned in German Propaganda In Polish Schools, German subversives have been trying to re-write history for a generation of Polish School children, in an attemp to convince the next generation of Polish that Germany was a victim of the war, and deserves some land back for ethnic Germans. No doubt EU 'Human Rights' laws will be used for German expansion.

More of this bizarre talk of German superiority in the press. This time Ben Chu from the Independent, in his article - "The Germans have yet to be told they face a momentous choice".

Regarding the Euro financial crisis, Ben says;

"Peter Bofinger, of the University of Würzburg, described the German mentality to me this week as, "we did everything right, others did everything wrong".....
And Germans do not like the suggestion that they could now be forced to pick up the bill for the mistakes of others. Philipp Rösler, the leader of the Free Democratic Party (a junior partner in the governing coalition) argued bluntly last month that his party will "not accept having German taxpayers pay for the debts of other countries."

All designed to gain support in the German electorate for savage economic domination and asset-stripping of other countries.

And of course, the very claims of economic superiority are a complete fabrication. German leaders defined the problem as an Anglo-Saxon one, and blamed America and Britain (all they have done is drop the claim that Anglo-American Capitalism is run by Jews. They still want to bring down Anglo-American capitalism).

As we have mentioned before, according to the Bank for International Settlements, Germany lent almost $1.5 trillion to Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and Italy. Add to that heavy German involvement in the credit binge in American real estate, and it is clear that wherever parties were taking place, German banks were supplying the drinks.

German banks are two and a half times more leveraged than their US banking peers, according to the International Monetary Fund.
Some of them have pulled out of the banking stress-tests that the rest of europe has had to undertake, because they did not want the results to go public.

The Nazi Prize For Treason Goes To....

Alfred Toepfer was one of postwar Germany’s leading businessmen and philanthropists. His fortune stemmed from his Hamburg-based grain and shipping company, which was a powerful engine of his country’s economic boom in the 1950s and ’60s. Through a series of foundations (the principal one now bears his name), he ploughed his money back into a host of prizes, scholarships and grants, many of them celebrating the idea of a united Europe. “Alfred Toepfer was one of the most successful German entrepreneurs of all time,” noted the historian Professor Hans Mommsen at the Alfred Toepfer Foundation’s 75th birthday celebration.

Throughout the post-war period Toepfer was refererred to as a "man of freedom".

However the reality is quite different.

In the years leading to the Second World War, Alfred Toepfer was a “sponsoring member” of the SS who was enormously helpful to Hitler. He channelled money via his foundations to influence public opinion in Britain and elsewhere in Europe in favour of the Third Reich and played an important role in Nazi subversion in Austria, the Czech Sudetenland, Alsace-Lorraine and elsewhere. During the war, his company supplied slaked lime to the German ghetto administration in the Polish city of Lodz.

Toepfer published a financial report showing he was in lockstep with Nazi foreign policy: “For Britons, the world; for the Germans, the leadership of the Continent.” By courting and lulling British opinion-formers, Germany would be freer to carry out its aggressive aims against Austria, Czechoslovakia and France. In 1936, Goebbels praised Toepfer in his diary as a clever, generous and enthusiastic patron.

Toepfer’s cryptically named FVS and JWG Foundations existed to award lucrative prizes to leading European intellectuals. In Britain, a newly-created “Shakespeare Prize” was awarded in 1937 to Ralph Vaughan Williams. On the Continent, most members of the prize juries and most of the prize-winners were Nazis. They included prominent intellectual godparents of the Holocaust as well as pro-Nazi activists in countries across and beyond Germany’s existing borders. Prize-giving ceremonies were swastika-clad gatherings of Hitler’s elite supporters. Joachim von Ribbentrop, Hitler’s Foreign Minister, was a patron of Toepfer’s Hanseatic Scholarships for Britons.

With the takeover of Austria and the Sudetenland successfully completed before the end of 1938, Toepfer busied himself with subversion in Alsace-Lorraine and elsewhere. He ran this operation using money parked in Liechtenstein, with a board headquartered in Basle, Switzerland, and a foundation based at Freiburg-im-Breisgau, in close reach of Alsace-Lorraine.

By this time, Toepfer’s younger brother Ernst was living in Switzerland, having previously gained US citizenship after spending several years running a New York branch of the business. This made it easier to transfer money across international borders. Ernst Toepfer ( died of natural causes in 1941) had been secretary of the pro-Nazi “Wehrwolf” organisation in New York City in the late 1920s. In the 1930s, he had acted as chauffeur and bodyguard for Sepp Schuster, leader of the New York City Nazis. The Toepfer brothers’ main agent in Switzerland was Eugen Wildi, a lawyer and member of the Swiss fascist “National Front” who had transmitted Nazi funds to Alsace-Lorraine since the 1920s.

Hitler’s triumph at Munich heightened alarm among Swiss politicians about German subversion in their own country. Within weeks, the Swiss police arrested Wildi. Their worst suspicions were confirmed when they found papers showing that he was on the board of the Toepfers’ JWG Foundation alongside Henlein and senior Austrian Nazis. Ernst Toepfer’s US passport was confiscated and his bank account blocked. The Swiss Federal Attorney General approached the US legation in Berne, which sent a series of communications to Washington in November 1938 outlining Swiss suspicions about the subversive character of the Toepfer foundations. Charges were then brought against the two Toepfer brothers and several suspected Nazi agents operating from German territory. The Swiss authorities alleged too that an Austrian associate of the Wildi-Toepfer circle, the former head of the VDA Dr Hans Steinacher, had previously been involved in smuggling bombs into Austria before the Anschluss.

In France, the security services were observing the Toepfers’ grantees. On 28 April 1939, a senior official in the Bas-Rhin department identified two Toepfer board members, Danish pastor Johannes Schmidt-Wodder and Wildi, as “very active agents of the German special services”.
The French had good reason for concern. Toepfer board member Hermann Bickler headed an autonomist political party in Alsace. After the Nazis overran France, he became an SS colonel, Nazi Kreisleiter (district leader) in Strasbourg and then one of the heads of the Sicherheitsdienst (the SS intelligence service) in Paris. He headed the division responsible for protecting and promoting Nazi double agents within the French resistance.

At the outbreak of war, Alfred Toepfer’s skills in deception made him a good candidate for the Abwehr (military intelligence). He was stationed mainly in Paris in a section responsible for subversion and sabotage.

Toepfer was interned by the British for two years after the war but released. His business skills were needed by the new West Germany and he skilfully remodelled himself as an anti-Nazi interested only in building a new Europe. In reality, his closest henchmen were unrepentant Nazis who had been key figures in murdering hundreds of thousands of Jews and in starving to death countless numbers of Russian prisoners of war.

Toepfer retained his wartime profits and rapidly expanded his grain business, building a considerable fleet of ships for the purpose. From the late 1940s, he used his wealth to run a double life. On the surface, he was politically correct, announcing his conversion to the idea of a united Europe. He restarted his highly funded prizes, now taking care to include a smattering of Jews in the winners’ roster.

He was extraordinarily generous and close to some of the most senior and most rabidly anti-Semitic members of the old political order. By giving prizes mainly to famous writers, architects and artists, Toepfer made it respectable to bestow other awards on Nazi associates and a series of anti-Semitic, völkisch (racist) writers and scholars.

Kurt Haller, Toepfer’s in-house legal counsel from 1947 until his death in 1961, had been one of the main players in the Nazi intrigues that brought the Arrow Cross to power, the party of Hungary’s Nazis.
Once in control, Arrow Cross hooligans inflicted unspeakable cruelties on Budapest’s Jews. Many thousands of the last surviving Jews perished in the weeks before the Russians liberated the capital. After the war, Haller bamboozled his British interrogators, trading information about his earlier Abwehr operations with the IRA for silence on his Holocaust activities.

In 1951, Toepfer recruited SS Major-General Hans-Joachim Riecke. He held senior positions in Toepfer’s company and his main foundation until 1976. A Nazi state secretary in the Food Ministry, Reichstag deputy and a senior member of the staff in occupied Eastern Europe of Alfred Rosenberg (Reich Minister for the Occupied Eastern Territories), he had been one of those mainly responsible for plans to starve the local population. The deaths of hundreds of thousands of Russian POWs were on his hands. The truth is that all three of Toepfer’s closest staffers-his senior executive, his legal counsel and his personal secretary-were parties to mass murder.

In September 1950, Toepfer received a coded request for a private meeting with the brother of Hartmann Lauterbacher, a former SS Major-General, former deputy head of the Hitler Youth and gauleiter. Toepfer had known him since the mid-1930s. In 1950, Lauterbacher was in hiding, having escaped from Italian custody. His brother evidently requested that Toepfer contact an associate in Buenos Aires requesting him to help Lauterbacher and his “large circle of friends” to set up a new life in Argentina. A copy of Toepfer’s letter of recommendation, dated 2 October 1950, survives in the Alfred Toepfer Archive.

Lauterbacher boarded a ship to Buenos Aires a few weeks later, following the same route taken by Adolf Eichmann during the same year. Subsequent reports identify Lauterbacher as one of the main organisers, together with Otto Skorzeny, of Die Spinne (The Spider), the escape organisation for members of the SS. Evidently, Lauterbacher was more concerned to develop the Argentina ratline for other wanted Nazi officers than for himself. He was soon in Egypt where he was reportedly part of a group of Nazis sent, with the connivance of West German intelligence, to train anti-Israel guerrillas (read Islamic Terrorists).

Toepfer gave financial help and support to many other Nazis, whom he considered as victims of Allied — especially British — brutality. He complained repeatedly about his own prewar internment by the British and about the fact that he had been questioned by a “Jewish officer”, though there is no evidence that he was in any way ill treated. He helped to fund SS Lieutenant-General Werner Lorenz’s defence before the US military tribunal in Nuremberg. He entertained and assisted SS Lieutenant-General Werner Best. Apart from his senior role in the Gestapo, Best had participated in thousands of murders in Poland and had been Germany’s plenipotentiary in occupied Denmark. Soon after his release, Best was implicated, along with Veesenmayer, in a neo-Nazi plot uncovered in 1953 by the British occupying authorities.

In 1972, the then British Prime Minister, Edward Heath, received the first Toepfer European Prize for Statesmanship, accompanied by a cheque for 300,000 Deutschmarks (more than £300,000 in today’s money). Toepfer, in turn, was made an honorary Commander of the Order of the British Empire. When Toepfer died in 1993 aged 99, Heath and the former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt — another Toepfer prizewinner — delivered two of the funeral orations.

Whether or not you are Euro-sceptic, history itself proves that Heath knowingly lied to the British electorate about the EEC, calling it merely a 'trade agreement'. Documents have since come to light proving that the EEC was planned since its very conception as a european superstate, with one currency and one foreign policy.

Heath even arranged pro-EEC propaganda versions of popular British TV programs before putting his deceptive proposition to the electorate.

Siemens - Data Mining Or Espionage?

Whilst the Bombardier Vs Siemens train debacle continues, serious questions need to be asked of MPs and procurement officers regarding their relationships with Siemens.

In the same week the Bombardier issue broke into the news, it was revealed that £500m had vanished in Edinburgh on a new Tram system. The contractors were Bilfinger Berger & SIEMENS.

One of countless scandals in Greece involves millions of euros smuggled under the table by Siemens and siphoned to the leading Greek political parties of New Democracy and pasok as ‘commissions’ or direct bribes for winning certain contracts worth billions. The key person (a Siemens top executive of Greek origin and German citizenship) involved in the plot escaped arrest and trial in Greece and currently shelters in Germany where he is protected by German law.

Siemens has paid out E1.3 BN in bribes between 2000 and 2006. Their track record is truely shocking;

GERMANY: Anonymous allegations were made against Siemens for 'bribery, preferential treatment and unacceptable agreements' in an E6 billion contract for the German Ministry of Defence. In the 2004 German affair over MNCs financing politicians, it was revealed that Siemens paid E60,000 per year to the MP Ulrike Flach (it was claimed these payments were in exchange for her translation work for Siemens).

Siemens employees in Greece and Germany allegedly embezzled over U.S. $550 million to pay bribes outside Germany via shell companies throughout Europe.
Until 2007, German firms could legally claim tax deductions on bribes paid overseas as "business expenses."

Austria: In 2009 a former associate of the Austrian Federal Agency for State Protection and Counter-Terrorism (BVT) in Vienna was appointed the head of the Siemens security department. Next, there were allegations that Gert-René Polli leaked a strictly confidential dossier of the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) to Iranian authorities. The Prosecutor’s Office in Vienna is conducting investiations over charges of betrayal of secrets. Siemens also supply mobile communications spying equipment, for the Iranian regime to spy on it's citizens.

ITALY: In April 2004, an Italian judge banned Siemens from taking part in any public tenders in Italy for a year following an investigation into alleged bribes made by Siemens to Italian utility company Enel. Siemens was accused of paying £4 million in bribes to Enel executives for a gas turbines contract.

RUSSIA: In April 2005 the Mail on Sunday newspaper reported that two former employees went public with allegations that Siemens regularly paid bribes in order to win public contracts. The allegations are supported by affidavits and internal Siemens documents and concern events that took place throughout the 1990s. According to Mr. Papernick Siemens secured a £20 million contract in 1999, with an alleged £4.5 million kickback, to supply equipment to the Bourdenko Institute of Neurosurgery in Moscow. The whistleblower alleges that this contract was dropped in 2000 as Siemens prepared to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange and feared it could be vulnerable under the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Michael Kutschenreuter, the former financial head of Siemens' telecommunications unit, was found guilty in 2010 of breach of trust and abetting bribery.
Kutschenreuter, 55, is the most senior Siemens executive found guilty of corruption so far. He was placed on probation for two years and fined 160,000 euros ($215,300) after admitting that he had covered up slush funds and bribes paid by his employees.
The other defendant, Hans-Werner Hartmann, who was in charge of accounting at the company's telecommunications arm, was placed on probation for 18 months and fined 40,000 euros. According to prosecutors, the funds were used to bribe government officials and business contacts to win lucrative contracts in Russia and Nigeria.

SINGAPORE: In 1996, Siemens and a number of other multinational corporations were banned for five years from Singapore government contracts. A consultant working for those multinational corporations allegedly bribed the Chief Executive of the Public Utilities Board.

SLOVAKIA: In 2001 Siemens was alleged to have offered SKK 1.5 million to the Chair of a tender commission concerning a large IT contract for the Slovak Treasury. However, Siemens Business Services successfully appealed in April 2002 and was able to re-enter bidding for an IT contract in the Slovak Treasury.

SPAIN: In 2001 Spanish judges suggested that Siemens was involved in money laundering, corruption and party financing amounting to DM 19 million in connection with the construction of the Ave rapid rail link between Madrid and Seville.

USA: In December 2008, Siemens agreed to pay $800 million to settle a U.S investigation of allegations it used bribes for years to win contracts.

ARGENTINA: 2008 - According to a recent lawsuit, an Argentine Government investigator uncovered evidence of bribes and kickbacks related to a large Siemens deal for Argentine ID cards. When the investigator continued to press the issue, he was attacked in front of his home, according to the lawsuit. He was punched and kicked about the head, rendering him unconscious and causing permanent damage to his vision and hearing, he said.
His attackers repeatedly called him “whistleblower” as they beat him, according to the lawsuit. Moran claimed one of them was an employee of Siemens Argentina. In 2008, Siemens Argentina pleaded guilty to falsifying its books and records to disguise $31 million in corrupt payments to Argentine officials, in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. The payments were made in connection with the identity card project, which was ultimately abandoned.

In 2008, Siemens was fined a record £490million in the US and £346million in Germany on bribery charges.
It was also barred for two years from bidding for contracts from the World Bank. Last month a further potential bribery case was discovered at Siemens’ business unit in Kuwait.

Germany's Federal Intelligence Service, or BND, has a representative on the Siemens management board, Spiegel cited unidentified former managers as saying. The BND used Siemens's communication technology for espionage purposes, while Siemens became the spy agency's top supplier.
The BND's role in Siemens means it has knowledge of access codes the company uses to conduct maintenance work on electronic and communications systems.

The British Government still dealt with Siemens and eventually offered them preferred status for the Thameslink contract.

With all of these practices, Siemens was still awarded;

A £635 million PFI contract in 1999 to take over National Savings - an entire Government department. Virtually all of the 4000 staff were transferred to Siemens Business Services.

Siemens Traffic Controls’ technology was selected by Transport for London (TfL) for the world’s largest Low Emission Zone. Siemens supply and operate the system, which involves installing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at 75 different sites around London to capture details of an estimated four million number plates every day.

Siemens Business Services was awarded an £18 million contract by the Office for National Statistics to digitise 250 million birth, marriage and death certificates from 1837 to the present day.

The UK Passport Service awarded Siemens Business Services a £120 million contract for an IT solution to make passport applications online from 2005.

The provision of many of the BBC’s technology services such as the core business network infrastructure, connectivity, business systems, business servers, telephony and printers is

outsourced to Siemens IT Services and Solutions under the Technology Framework Contract. This involved transferring over a thousand BBC employees to Siemens.

It needs to be understood that many of the above contracts involve hard drives, including the BBC phone system. Consider the data a foreign power can derive from the reports and investigations at the BBC - Political scandals where sources and names are kept out of reporting for security reasons etc.

As Siemens runs the systems, rather than just supplying them, they send a Siemens employee to download the data from the hard drives to 'clear' them monthly.

They do this at Royal Mail for example, where the letter sorting machines are built and maintained by Siemens. These machines photograph and record every item of mail they process, using character recognition software. The data is stored on hard drives which are emptied monthly by Siemens. This provides valuable commercial data for Deutsche Post, Royal Mail's major rival. The software can also track particular addresses including P.O Boxes, even monitoring particular handwriting if the envelope is hand-written.

The data of London vehicle movements, and the family tree of everyone in the UK being given to a foreign power is very concerning. Add the BBC data, and that is all the intelligence sources a foreign power could ever dream of having. Just one example would be that, as Germany has the family tree data of the entire country, any MI6 Officers in Germany (or elsewhere) using cover names could potentially be exposed.

It seems it's ok for Germany to know the vehicle movements of British VIPs, and profile every British Citizen since 1837.

If you doubt the risk to Britain's security posed by these infiltrations, consider whether Berlin would allow a British company such intimate knowledge and tracking abilities of major German infastructure...

Why do you think they bribe?

Under the terms of the deal, announced today, the defence equipment contractor will use Siemens software to develop the new fleet of its next-generation vessels.

The Continuation Of War By Other Means

General Otto von Stuelpnagel who ruled France for Hitler from 1940 to 1944:

"What does a provisional defeat matter to us if because of the destruction of manpower and material which we will have been able to inflict on our enemies and neighbouring territories, we have obtained a margin of economic and demographic superiority greater than before 1939? The conquest of the world will require numerous stages, but the essential is that the end of each stage brings us an economic and industrial essential greater than that of our enemies."

"With the war booty which we have accumulated, the enfeebling of two generations of the manpower, the destruction of the industries of our neighbours and that which we can save of our own, we shall be better placed to conquer in twenty-five or even fifty years than we were in 1939. The interval of twenty-five years is a limited interval, for that is the time which will be required for Russia to repair the destruction we have visited on her."

The memorandum mentioned some of the elaborate devices by which the rulers of Germany would seek to evade a Just peace;

“We do not have to fear peace conditions analogous to those which we would have imposed because our adversaries will always be divided and disunited. Our enemies recognize already that the 1919 formula, 'Germany will pay,' lacked sense and worth. We will furnish them some brigades of workers, we will restore some art objects or out-of-date machines, and we can always say that those which we do not restore were destroyed by enemy bombardments.

We should immediately prepare as camouflage a list of such objects destroyed by Anglo-American bombs."

The basic aim of the German plan, in 1945 as in 1918, was to secure a final peace settlement, no matter how severe it may appear on the surface, or how hard on the German people, which would leave German economic power intact.

In 1915 a man called William Bainbridge wrote a detailed report about Germany’s Political class for the US government. It is Document 26, First Session of the 68^th Congress of the United States. The document was written from transcripts of a conversation with a superior German Officer in Berlin about their plans for a post-war campaign.

During the conversation, the German officer revealed;

“The immediate competitors in the economic and commercial world will be so crippled that, when it is all over, the Germans will be outselling them in the markets of the world long before they can get on their feet. Following the war, there will be economic hell. We will set class against class, individual against individual, until the nations will have pretty much all they can cope with at home, and not bother with us.” Reference this with the great depression, and Germany's apparent manipulation of markets - Germanys Long Game?

The reason this German Officer could be so confident about this, is that he knew the German political class and heads of industry, had always accepted that to achieve their aims of a German empire could take 100 years. They knew it would take both military and covert peace operations using terrorism and financial chaos to achieve their Pan-German dream. As early as 1922, Germany was already re-arming, and had moved its aircraft production to other European states using ‘front’ companies. It also had vast sums of wealth hidden in neutral countries, including (according to the Neue Zeucher Zeitung, June 1919) ‘emigrated capital’ in Switzerland of 35 billion Marks! The manipulation of financial markets in the 1920s was just one of many German post-war campaigns using non-official German funds.

In 1945, the British Ministry of Economic Warfare estimated that Germany had looted nearly $27,000,000,000 from conquered nations. Much of this money was distributed to the hundreds of ‘front’ companies around the world, for their post-war campaign.

In post-war Argentina, German agents had control of banks, railroads, aviation, chemicals and steel works. Fritz Mandl virtually controlled the Argentine munitions industry on behalf of I.G Farben. German players had key positions in the Peron government and military.

The plan by the Pan-German crowd to heavily influence the Americas, was drawn up long before Hitler came into power, directly aimed at turning the South American sphere against the US and UK.

This illuminates the real under-currents of the Falklands. Argentine military, intelligence, and Government, contained many SS and Gestapo men acting as 'advisers'. The Argentine military was full of them, advising on tactics, weapons, and propaganda.

It must have been quite an exciting day when the old Nazis witnessed the sinking of HMS Sheffield and HMS Ardent during the Falklands conflict.

Throughout WW2, Germany's rulers never lost contact with certain circles in Europe and America which openly sympathized with Germany's aggression and advocated support of Nazism as a "bulwark against Communism".

After the Second World War, the Allied de-nazification process was a failure. None of the major ‘behind the scenes’ players were removed from power for long. Both the UK and US intelligence agencies sheltered Nazi spies, and put them back into the new German intelligence service BND, because they were skilled and rabidly anti-communist. It is no surprise the Cold War escalated as it did, with Nazis giving the US and UK intelligence reports.

Declassified MI5 reports clearly state that part of the Nazi post-war plan was to breed distrust between the West and Russia. The western Allies gave them the perfect opportunity. Two of the main people responsible for allowing Nazis into US intelligence were the Dulles brothers (Allen Dulles Wiki John Foster Dulles Wiki). JF Dulles Article (by a well informed US Lt Col).

John Foster Dulles did not just arrange money for German assets during WW2, he actively managed and legally protected German intelligence fronts (making him a German spy by default?)....he also helped organise a steady flow of Saudi oil to Nazi Germany throughout the war, and brokered a deal with Standard Oil and the US IG Farben front to supply synthetic oils for use in rubber manufacture and high performance engines (for the Luftwaffe).

These deals gave Germany a considerable advantage over Britain, as synthetics were new and both Britain and Germany could not yet manufature them. Dulles supplied a license of the patent to Germany. This technology was hidden even from the US arms industry!

It is also worth noting, that Dulles' legal protection hiding Nazi money movements in the US, was in part, for Hamburg Amerika Line, Union Banking Corp and Brown Brothers Harriman. Companies with Prescott Bush and George Herbert Walker as Directors.

In October of 1942, Prescott Bush was charged with running Nazi front groups under the Trading With The Enemy Act, and all shares of the Union Banking Corporation were seized by the U.S. Alien Property Custodian.

Supreme Court Justice Arthur Goldberg once stated that "The Dulles brothers were traitors." And President Roosevelt, potentially realising Dulles was a traitor, had his New York "Office of Coordinator of Information" wiretapped in 1941-42. Dulles was warned and covered his tracks. Roosevelt died before charges were brought.

Press Ignorance Or Propaganda? Encouragement Of An Assertive Germany

There have been floods of articles recently, calling for a new 'leader' (fuhrer) in europe; invariably suggesting that leadership needs to come from the newly dominant Germany.

We are going to de-construct an article in today's Irish Times titled "Assertive Germany now vital if euro debacle to be resolved", written by Dan O'Brien.

He writes;
"It (Germany) is again centre stage as the future of the euro hangs in the balance. Ultimately, Germany will have to decide whether to take on a greater role in Europe’s affairs and save the euro, or to turn in on itself and let the currency fail."

Is this true? Why exactly does Germany need to take on a greater role in Europe's affairs? The EU is meant to be equal betwen member states. What Mr O'Brien is saying here is that if Germany doesn't gain control of other sovereign nation's economies, the Euro will collapse. Mr O'Brien believes Germany is somehow superior to other nations in fiscal control. Which as we have demonstrated previously, is complete rubbish and smells strongly of propaganda.

He continues;
"Militarily, in its first 70 years of existence it went to war against almost all its neighbours, often simultaneously, and always with devastating consequences."

True. But then he twists that view for the reader, and contradicts himself;

"...old concerns about German intentions have resurfaced. Most crudely, this has been evident, here and elsewhere, in talk of a German takeover of Europe and even a “Fourth Reich”. Such views are informed by comic books, not an understanding of national character, such as it is, or of German actions in the world after (and before) the 1914-1945 period"

According to O'Brien, there appears to have been only peaceful non-assertiveness before 1914. Even though he has just alluded to a series of wars in the making of Germany, and the attacks on Austria (1866), then France (1870). But Mr O'Brien would like you to forget that, as he wants to convince the reader that talk of German takeover of Europe is "comic book". Despite that he just said Germany needs to be more assertive in it's very takeover of Europe by controlling other nation states. Which is it Mr O'Brien?

After he has just said that people who believe Germany is trying to takeover Europe do not have an "understanding of (German) national character", he again uses the opposite argument to twist reality for his argument and says "Countries are not like people. They do not have immutable characteristics, but change and evolve constantly." Again Mr O'Brien, which is it?

History has important lessons. It is not politically-incorrect to state a problem with German foreign policy. There is talk of provisional dictatorship in German leadership circles, as democracy is deemed as inefficient. Finance Minister Schäuble's own words last week demonstrate that. Characteristics do change, but every country is also different due to it's history and experience. German democracy is young, and had to be foisted upon Germany by the UK and US. Fact.

In trying to create the idea that Germany is not assertive in recent years, he says;
"For years, Britain and France have been dragging it to join them in ratcheting up sanctions on Iran in an effort to thwart the Islamic state’s bid to acquire a nuclear weapons capability."

O'Brien is ignoring that the reason Britain has had to do this, is because Germany is assertively supporting Iran, by moving their terrorist funding via their banks, and giving German tunneling expertise to help hide Iran's nuclear ambitions from the IAEA. A number of shipping vessels have also been found to contain weapons, rocket parts etc, all bound for Iran from German firms. But according to Mr O'Brien, that must be because Germany is not assertive enough....

He continues;
"Germany could decide that a finite period of economic meltdown is more tolerable than forever attempting to make everyone else more Germanic in how they manage their economies, and permanently bailing them out if they fail."

Firstly, yet again he is ignoring German involvement and casino behaviour in causing the financial crisis, and talking about mythical German superiority. Secondly, if Germany was in control of the economies of Europe, there would be no bailouts. The other countries would be under German fiscal control. So he is making a moot point.

O'Brien finishes with;
"The real risk for Europe now is not German domination, but isolationism."

If only. Germany leaving the Euro may be one of the best things for all the other economies. The interest rates that share a large part of the blame for the Euro periphery proplems, are set for the benefit of Germany at the expense of the periphery. With Germany out of the Eurozone, the others may actually stand a chance of sorting out the problems, without being pillaged by Germany and her debt collectors.

If Germany did not intend to control and consume Europe, and benefit from the crisis, they would have left the Eurozone already.

But Mr O'Brien seems to want to convince the reader that German domination is the best bet for the future.

Newly Declassified MI5 File On German Post-War Intelligence

A newly declassified file has been released by the National Archives today.

The MI5 file contains details of the post-war plan by German Intelligence to disrupt relations between the UK/US and Russia using Stay-Behind networks; to train terrorist groups in guerilla warfare; that the newly developed post-war German Federal Intelligence Agency was likely being used as a cover; that the underground German intelligence network worldwide would be run via 'trade' cover.

This is not the first of declassified files to confirm suspicions.

It is interesting that the wording of these files seems to underestimate German Intelligence. Where the previously released files talk about the plan for post-war terrorism, the various MI5 agents seem to assume that the terrorist groups will be some small group of disorganised Germans, throwing molatovs at Brits in occupied Germany. Yet if you follow the dots, German intelligence (including many skilled and experienced Nazis), actually worked with and trained Islamic terror groups. It appears that this nasty little network even supported the IRA.

There is also a mention of instructions to the Nazi intelligence networks, for infiltration of the Red Cross. Anyone familiar with how the Red Cross was used to spirit Nazi leaders out of post-war Europe under false documents will find this link very interesting.

Another link is that the SD (Sicherheits-Dienst) continued their intelligence operations via the German ReichsPost (later DeutschePost). The document reveals "nearly all of the postal employees in southern Germany" were SD!

Another notable trend is that the MI5 agents writing the documents, look at the issue from a perspective of an intelligence threat purely from a Nazi perspective. WW1 was not caused by Nazis.
It's amazing that the world became convinced that the German threat was only related to a particular political party, rather than general German ambitions to dominate Europe. The Nazis certainly added a horrible racial element, but that didn't mean you had to be a Nazi to support German expansion!

It seems that the agents tracking German movements around the world post-war, were only worried if the government of a particular country was right-wing.

Greeks Furious Over Merkel Comment

Continuing from our previous article Merkel Visiting Serbia, German support for Nationalists in the region to encourage further unrest, continues.

On Croatian TV (HRT) this week, Merkel was interviewed about what she was intending to achieve from her Balkans trip.

She talked about trying to force Serbia to recognise Kosovo, as well as the name dispute between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia.

Merkel showed her cards, by saying;
"It is very important for Serbia to collaborate with Kosovo, for Bosnia to elect a government and for Macedonia to solve the name dispute with Greece,"
Commenting on the Western Balkan states' prospects of joining the EU.

Greeks are furious over her use of the term "Macedonia" instead of the correct name FYROM, betraying her real views over who is going to get German support in the name dispute between FYROM and Greece.

Why is this important?

Greek Macedonia is marked on the map in green, bordering FYROM.

The FYROM Macedonian Nationalists, want FYROM recognised as 'Macedonia'. These same Nationalists want to claim Greek Macedonia (green) for themselves.

Greece is fully aware that if FYROM is recognised under the name 'Macedonia', they are going to have a difficult time arguing against FYROM's claims to Greek land.
So, Greece is fighting to make sure the international community do not recognise FYROM as 'Macedonia'.

If Germany backs the name recognition, as they are sure to do (judging by their behaviour so far in the Balkans), then Greece may have a real problem.

As we have mentioned previously, German foreign policy is to quietly back smaller minorities in regions where they want to swing the leadership into a pro-German stance. Exactly the way they encouraged the break-up of the Balkans in the 1990's, and supported the IRA (amongst others) during WW1 and WW2.

This system gives Germany an ever increasing power in the EU, and eventually the UN, by ensuring the new states they have created are voting with Germany.

It is also strategically important, as we have mentioned previously. Now that the Balkans are under German Quisling leadership, the next move is an outlet to the Med. If Germany backs FYROM Nationalist claims to Greek land, they can achieve just that. Watch Cyprus.

Add the anti-Greek sentiment in German media, calling for "the lazy Greeks" to sell their islands and give up land in return for financial assistance, and it becomes clear there is a toxic situation brewing in the region - with Germany stirring in the poison with a great big stick.

"Three years ago, when the financial crisis first hit, the German government, like the rest of Europe, quickly defined the problem as an Anglo-Saxon one, and blamed America and Britain. A year later, as the financial crisis widened into a general economic crisis, the Germans retreated into even safer, more familiar territory, redefining the world crisis not as financial but as fiscal – one of deficits and debt.

As a result, Germany has denied any culpability for what has gone wrong. Indeed as long as it can argue that it is not a source of the problem, it can justify resisting costly measures to resolve it.
Yet according to the Bank for International Settlements, Germany lent almost $1.5 trillion to Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and Italy. At the start of the crisis German banks had 30 percent of all loans made to these countries’ private and public sectors. Even today this one category of loans is equivalent to 15 percent of the size of the German economy.

Add to that heavy German involvement in the credit binge in American real estate (half of America’s subprime assets were sold on to Europe), and in property speculation across Europe, and it is clear that wherever parties were taking place, German banks were supplying the drinks (!).

As a result, Germany’s banks are today the most highly leveraged of any of the major advanced economies, a massive two and a half times more leveraged than their US banking peers, according to the International Monetary Fund.

Indeed, worried about the impact of stress tests on their credibility, German bank regulators have been hostile to the same disclosure and capital accounting requirements agreed on by every other euro zone country, and one Landesbank – the state-owned regional banks in Germany – went so far as to pull out of the tests the day before the results were released."

Until we read his views today, GermanyWatch was not a fan of Mr Brown. However, after reading his honesty on German links to the economic crisis, we have a new found respect for the man.

It seems Mr Brown is of a similar opinion to us- That Germany would like to crush the Anglo-American banking systems.

German Cabinet Minister Calls For Asset-Stripping Of Bailout Countries

German labour Minister Ursula von der Leyen backed calls on Tuesday to demand collateral for Euro zone bailouts, such as gold reserves or stakes in state industry. But "her comments did not appear to be the German government's official view."

So far German government officials have only made off-the-record comments about Finland's requirement for Greece to put up collateral, saying they worry this could spark copy-cat requests from other countries (inc themselves).
Greece agreed last week to provide AAA-rated Finland with cash collateral for the loans, in a plan that did in effect spark requests for similar treatment from Austria, the Netherlands and Slovakia.

When questioned about the above comments, another unnamed senior German minister said "the key issue in euro zone bailouts is linking aid to strict conditions."

As we have been saying, the bailouts are a cover for asset-stripping of periphery nations by German banks and businesses.

Of course, in order to not frighten the European electorate, Germany cannot be the first nation to openly insist on assets-for-bailouts. So they are encouraging others not to do so.

Note how quickly they caveat the comments as "not official government policy". It is government policy,... its just unofficial.

Merkel Visiting Serbia To Assert Her Authority

German Chancellor Merkel is visiting Croatia and Serbia this week for talks on the future of the region, including discussion on EU membership for the Balkan states.

The German delegation includes a group of business leaders, keen to get their hands on Serbia's energy supplies.

Merkel's trip to Croatia and Serbia in the middle of the financial crisis engulfing Europe, is seen by many as a strong sign of Germany's diplomatic commitment to the region.
Germany is Croatia's second-largest trade partner, after Italy, and the third largest investor in the country. The country's stunning Adriatic coast is also a perennial favourite of German tourists with over 1.5 million visiting Croatia in 2010.

"I will ask that Croatia makes an effort for countries that are not very far yet (on the EU path) like Bosnia-Herzegovina and to ensure that the conflict between Serbia and Kosovo does not escalate," Said Merkel in a recent interview.

"One of my tasks will be to convince Serbia that it must resume dialogue with Kosovo," said Merkel in her weekly podcast broadcast on the Chancellory website on Saturday.

The visit comes shortly after Serbian trade has been blocked by other Balkan states - a move sure to be used as leverage on Serbia.

German interest in the strategically important region has been obvious since the fall of the Berlin Wall, despite largely being hidden from western media.
GermanyWatch takes no sides in the ongoing fight for recognition in the Balkans, and as ever with propagandised media reports coming out of the region for the last two decades, it is difficult to get an exact picture.
However one thing is clear from the conflicts; Germany was a major supporter and beneficiary in the break-up of Yugoslavia, in a chilling echo of WW2 expansionism.

Hitler of course, was the first German to break up Yugoslavia into racial statelets in 1941/1942.
Germany backed, armed, and supported individual nationalist groups to fight and break up the region, in much the same way as she has backed Irish and Scottish independence groups in the past.
This move had a number of benefits to Hitler's Germany, including but not limited to; Removing western influence, creating Nazi Quisling regimes as a protective corridor from attack, providing German access to the Adriatic, bringing Croatia and Slovenia within the German economic zone, securing a favoured nation status with the oil and gas producing Arab states, and furthering Hitler's racial plans for Europe.

Jasenovac concentration camp, in the newly independent Nazi backed Croatia, was one of the largest camps of the war, with a massive 1m plus death toll. The majority of the victims were Serbs, Roma, and Jews. The Nazi puppet Ustashe regime ran the camps and SS death squads. Another group supported by the Nazi regime was Balli Kombetar, a Fascist Albanian Nationalist group.
Britain fought on the side of the Serbs in WW2, who were Britain's allies. After the war, the region was re-instated as Yugoslavia, helping to lower ethnic tensions.

By 1992, through much German meddling in the region, including working with their previous Fascist allies in Croatia, and Balli Kombetar in Albania, Yugoslavia was again broken-apart into racial statelets to the same design as Hitler had created 60 years previously.

The UK is somewhat of a special case as far as Germany is concerned, both historically, when, allied with the Serbs, she was twice instrumental in defeating German expansionism, and currently, when the UK impedes Germany's domination of the EU. After WW2 until the demise of communism and German reunification, Germany needed the UK as an ally to help defend its Eastern border. After 1989, German Government actions indicate that the UK is seen as an impediment to Germany's strategic ambitions.
Germany has taken steps to undermine the UK's financial standing, and its credibility within the EU, NATO and the North Atlantic Alliance.

It should be remembered, that by breaking up the former Yugoslavia, Germany has created four new member states at the United Nations in New York, all four of these new states will be 'encouraged' to vote in favour of Germany being given a seat on the UN Security Council (Germany’s support for Scottish Independence may have the same effect, UK loses UN influence). For its part, Germany is playing an active role to gain EU membership for Croatia and Slovenia. In Slovenia's first multi-party government following secession from Yugoslavia, no less than six Ministers were of German descent.

The reunification of the two Germanies and modernisation of the East German armed forces, made available a substantial pool of weapons and military instructors for the arming and training of a Croatian militia. During late 1989, and throughout 1990, arms flowed from Germany to Croatia to equip militia units. After his HDZ party (Croatian Democratic Union) won control of the Sabor in the May 30, 1990 elections, the newly elected President Tudjman formed a National Guard Corps (ZNG). In effect, the ZNG was not a "national" force in the accepted meaning' of the word, rather it was the ultra-nationalist, neo-USTASHE military wing of Tudjman's HDZ political party, in the same way that the "Brownshirts" of the 1930s acted as the vanguard enforcement wing of Hitler's National Socialist Party.

With the full support of Germany, and against the wishes of other members of the EC, the HDZ ruling party declared Croatian sovereignty in the Sabor on December 22, 1990, despite strong objections raised by the opposition parties.

In December 1991, EEC heads of state gathered for a crucial meeting at Maastricht, to agree a treaty for the future development of the European Community, including moves towards a common policy on foreign affairs and security.

Western European Union document 1342 Part two, dated November 6, 1992, indicates that at the Maastricht meeting, the unity of the EEC was maintained at the expense of the unity of Yugoslavia. In the course of heated discussions on European security and a common policy on foreign affairs, Germany injected the problems in Yugoslavia.

From a position where the EEC members were 11 to one in favour of maintaining the unity of Yugoslavia, Germany succeeded at 04.00 hrs in forcing approval for the recognition of Croatia and Slovenia as independent states, essentially as a condition for German involvement. The Maastricht Treaty was signed, and a press statement issued that the EEC was united on all major policy matters.

Yugoslav unity was sacrificed to maintain EC unity. By its actions, Germany had proved it had become the dominant power in the European Community and was prepared to use its economic strength to achieve strategic goals in the post cold war era. A few days after the conclusion of the Maastricht meeting, on December 23, 1991, German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher immediately pushed for recognition of the Yugoslav republics of Croatia and Slovenia to the EU - effective from January 15, 1992. Germany also gave a promise to gain them membership of the United Nations; effected just five months later on May 22, 1992.

Germany then forced through EEC recognition of Bosnia/Herzegovina on April 6, 1992; The anniversary of Germany's invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941. This was done against all the advice and warnings of the conflict that would occur in the region from knowledgeable statesman, including Lord Carrington who resigned from his post as EEC Peace Negotiator.

GermanyWatch does not condone or try to limit claims of ethnic cleansing on either side of the regional conflict, but as the western media has largely been filled with Serbain atrocities, the following should be noted.

One of the most sinister changes after Croatian independence, was that every identified Serb in Croatia was issued with a new identity card which incorporated the figure 3 as the eighth figure in the identity number. The figure 3 thus became the Croatian equivalent for Serbs as nazi Germany's Star of David/ IBM punchcard number were for all Jews residing in countries dominated by Germany. When the time came for ethnic cleansing to start, the figure 3 would ensure no Serb would escape.

With the Balkans under German sphere of influence, the next step for German Quisling governments would be Greece and Cyprus for access to the Med.

Don't forget that WW1 was sparked by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand by a Serb. Germany then allied with Austria and declared war on Serbia, after disputes over territory. Austria lost land to Serbia at Versailles. Two World Wars have still not settled the issues.
In fifty years, we may look back at 1991 as the unofficial start of a third European-wide conflict.

Deutschland Uber Alles!

A brilliant article in today's Irish Independent;

"Conceived as a tool for integrating Germany into Europe, (the Euro) it has become the opposite. For better or for worse, the Germans now own Europe. If the rest of Europe is to continue to enjoy the benefits of what is essentially a German currency, they need to become more German."

"You would nearly start believing those conspiracy theorists who say that the whole euro crisis was brought about just so they could use the opportunity to create a united states of Europe. As it transpired, the outcome of the Franco-German summit was more proposals to make us all more German, proposals that will suit the Germans but won't suit the rest of us -- tax harmonisation (initially only between Germany and France, but let's not kid ourselves, this will ultimately lead to more pressure for higher corporation tax for us), a financial transaction tax that could murder our economy, and a new golden rule of no budget deficits, which coincidentally, is central to France not having their debt downgraded, which will play well in France. And, of course, there will be no eurobonds, which will play well, as Morgan Kelly would say, in the German tabloids.

Perhaps the most chilling thing about the proposed financial tax, the so-called Tobin tax, was that Merkel and Sarkozy said they would have their finance ministers do some work on it, "to contribute to the work of the European Commission" on such a move. In other words, the Commission weren't doing France and Germany's bidding quickly enough on the financial tax so they are going to help it along.
In other words, Germany, with a bit of help from France, is now nakedly running European policy, and they are doing so in their own interests.

Of course, the Germans will tell us that we have to take our medicine and atone for our past sins. And we are told this as if Germany had no sins to atone for. But let us, if we may, go back to Michael Lewis for a moment, who details in his piece how Germany is essentially bailing everyone else out so everyone else can pay back the lunatic loans that now-troubled German banks gave out. You see, as Lewis explains, the Germans' dirty little secret is that while they had no mad credit boom of their own, they did it by proxy, by lending into everyone else's boom, sometimes crazily."

Germany's involvement in the financial crisis is being kept secret, whilst the German propaganda machine fills european media with the idea that Germany is financially superior to other nations. Germany pretends she has nothing to do with the cause of the debt crisis, and so we should all just roll over and let the Germans run Europe.

Germany's Gold Reserves - A New World Currency?

A great article from the Trumpet. We at GermanyWatch are not religious, however this article raises some interesting questions:

"The forerunner of today’s European Central Bank, the European Monetary Institute (emi), once carried almost $27 billion in gold reserves. In 1998, the emi was replaced by the European Central Bank (ecb). No European Monetary Union financial data was published that year, while Europe’s elites “rebalanced” the financial system. When financial records resumed publication in 1999, $20 billion in gold had “gone missing” from EU coffers.

One would have assumed that these EU reserves should have been automatically transferred to the emi’s replacement, the ecb. No official explanation was ever given as to why it was not. It is interesting to note, however, that in that same year, the German central bank reported a $20 billion increase in its national gold reserves.

The result? Germany now owned 3,400 tons of gold—enough to back an entire currency if it wanted to!

As the late Christopher Story, a former adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, observed: “The Bundesbank suddenly acquired massive gold reserves, just as the euro was launched in the first quarter of 1999. The gold amassed... is more than enough with which unilaterally to introduce a gold-backed ‘new Deutsche mark’—in contrast to the U.S. dollar, which is not backed by gold” (Economic Intelligence Review, March 2000).

Is it possible that German elites could use their massive gold reserves to establish a gold-backed Deutsche mark in the event that the euro fails? Here is what the late Christopher Story wrote in that March 2000 edition of the Economic Intelligence Review:
“If Berlin were to decide that the progressive collapse of the euro, which is already well advanced, had ceased to be tolerable, it has already amassed the necessary reserves of gold to be able to float a ‘new Deutsche mark’ unilaterally—leaving the rest of Europe at Germany’s mercy and prospectively left with no practical choice, under the circumstances, but to accept the new Deutsche mark in lieu of the degraded euro ….”

The implications of all this for the United States, the dollar and the world, are huge. Whereas the U.S. dollar ceased to be backed by gold in 1971, the new Deutsche mark would be backed by gold. The dollar could be “dislodged” from its global primacy not by the euro, which will continue to be degraded either immediately or over time, but by the new Deutsche mark.

Back in the heady European summer of 1990, when Germanic euphoria was high over the unification of East and West Germany, British politician Nicholas Ridley told the Spectator that “European Monetary Union, then being discussed seriously for the first time, was ‘a German racket designed to take over the whole of Europe. … You might just as well give it to Adolf Hitler, frankly …. I’m not sure I wouldn’t rather have the [bomb] shelters and the chance to fight back, than simply being taken over by economics."

The GermanyWatch belief is that the Euro has not finished being used for German benefit.

We agree that the long term plan seems to be to allow the EU competitors to lose value under strict conditions. But that is already happening. The German backed Euro will undoubtedly become the new world reserve currency, putting the final knife-in-the-back of the US. Many economc reformists worldwide, especially anti-Anglo/American anti-capitalist economists, are calling out for a gold-backed reserve currency.

But when Germany is essentially in control of the Euro and the ECB, controls the purse strings, and has a lot of gold to back the Euro, why would they need to replace it with a DeutschMark? Vanity?

We do feel that another option for them is to break away from the traditional Euro, and start a 2-speed Europe, no doubt essentially a German currency, and invite members of the Eurozone into it. But this would only be likely if the other Euro members are putting too many barriers up to German domination, and a plan-B is required. German leaders have put far too much work in to the current Euro, to just abandon it. Far better to try and dominate the existing currency.

As GermanyWatch has explained in a previous article, the centralised control of European economies, run and backed by Germany, is all that is needed to make colonies of Europe. Germany already has Europe in Checkmate.

German Govt Office Bans Facebook 'Likes'

In an intersting move, a German data protection authority is "unliking" Facebook's "Like" button.

Thilo Weichert, data protection commissioner in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, has ordered state institutions to shut down the fan pages on the social networking site and remove the "Like" button from their websites, saying it leads to profiling that violates German and European law.
Facebook insisted that it is in full compliance with European data protection laws.

Mr Weichert issued a statement saying technical analysis by his office shows California-based Facebook violated German and European data protection laws by passing content data to the social network's servers in the US.
"Whoever visits Facebook or uses a plug-in must expect that he or she will be tracked by the company for two years," Mr Weichert said. "Facebook builds a broad individual and for members even a personalised profile."

It seems it is one rule for Germany, the opposite for everyone else, as GermanyWatch mentioned in our previous post Brit Govt Go Mad - Give Away National Security.

German firm Siemens Traffic Controls’ technology was selected by Transport for London (TfL) for the world’s largest Low Emission Zone. This scheme, launched in 2008, is the first of its kind in the UK and the largest in the world. It aims to discourage the use of the most polluting lorries, coaches and buses to improve air quality and health across the capital. Siemens will supply and operate the system, which involves installing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at 75 different sites around London to capture details of an estimated four million number plates every day.

Siemens Business Services was awarded an £18 million contract by the Office for National Statistics to digitise 250 million birth, marriage and death certificates from 1837 to the present day. (Seriously!!!!)

The UK Passport Service awards Siemens Business Services a £120 million contract for an IT solution to make passport applications online from 2005.

Siemens is of course, known to be linked to German intelligence. The data of London vehicle movements, and the family tree of everyone in the UK being given to a foreign power is very concerning.

It seems it's ok for Germany to know the vehicle movements of British VIPs, and profile every British Citizen since 1837 - but if the US profiles Germans they moan.
